well if phylo delphi a is the city of brotherly love, does that make bald amore the city of naked lust? i don't know about cities but 2/3 of the towns in my surreal nervana mountains have some pretty funkey names. like you bet, red dog, cammel's hump (these three on the same road in that order), rough and ready (yes that's really the name of a town), challange, dobbins, even downyville. i always thought benali sounded like a strainge name for a station. or emegrant gap, blue cannion, magra, secret town, clipper gap (nowhere near any navigable body of water!), applegate, cool (yup we've got a town named cool, which isn't particularly, along with one named weed which is not a good place to grow it), pilot hill, iowa hill, peardale, we do have a respectable size town named grass velley, sattley, grey eagil (don't think there was every any eagles arround there but i could be mystaken), cleo, merkleyville (always wondered what a merkle was), down in the bay area there's saucilito (what's a saucil for it to be the dimunitive of?), pinole (or pine knoll origeonaly i suspect although i've allways thought of it as pin hole, cause the first few time i rode by on the train it was that small, back in the 50s), shingle springs (well that one makes some sense as there used to be a saw mill there, although i think it may have been named BEfORE the sawmill was built), i'm sure there's zillions more, up in oregon i once lived near a place called wilderville.
heh, the name of my town is Flatwoods. The irony is theres nothing flat about this place, NOTHING at all. Its a HUGE foothill.
I have family in Saskatoon. If you want funny names, just ask Bugs Bunny. He was always forgetting to take that left turn at Albuquerque.
truth or consequences and teec nos pas. in both towns you're likely to find someone with the last name Prettyontop.

I live in Nags Head. Can't get no funnier than that unless you want to talk about the next village up which is called Kill Devil Hills.
