I received this cool set called "Fun With Hemp" for my birthday and it has enough stuff in it to make 25 peices even rings! woohoo! I have been looking for ring patterns for awhile, without success. The only tricky thing so far is getting those bi-valve seashells to not be twisty and loose when i work them into the patterns. I gave away the first bracelet I made to a nice hippy lady my brother gave a ride to. (Hi and Peace to Laurel and her dog Blanco!) hugs bb Delfynasa
I've always wanted to make hemp jewelry. I just don't know how and I don't have anyone to teach me =(
There are lots of patterns on line('cept for rings) or you could get a book from the library, or one of the little kits that comes with all you need so you could learn the basic knots and then all sorts of things hugs bb Delfynasa or you could get Fun With Hemp from Mary Maxim dot com good luck and let me know if you have trouble finding anything!!!
oh, and used bookstores have REALLY cheap and retro how to macarame books(I bought three or four really good ones for less than $2) good luck! bb Delfynasa
^It's got to be worn down so it isn't itchy. Just keep wearing it and the skin it is on will be desensitized to the scratchy sensation.
I had a friend that used to make hemp jewelry and to soften it up she would throw it in the washing machine, but that always made it look ratty. So basically, I just gotta buck up and live with for a while? I guess I could do that.
After a couple hours you'll stop even noticing it. After the first two days it won't bother you at all
I've only ever worn hemp jewelry once and I took it off after a few minutes. But now that I know the sensation will go away, I'm not too worried. It sucked though, it was a choker that I wore and it made this huge red ring around my neck from me scratching at it. I looked a little weird.
