Fuck Winn Dixie

I am so pissed!!!! So fucking pissed!!! I waited over two months for this job. I NEED MONEY. I have past due bills and now a credit card bill, and these fuckers keep pulling shit on me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! After everything they put me through I finally have the job. I went over there at 7:30 this morning, I am a zombie. I can't sleep at night, and of course I didn't. I get there for orientation and he tells me I'm not in the system and therefore cannot go to orientation until THURSDAY. Five days. Excuse me? After all this bullshit they are still not on the ball. They say wait and wait and wait some more. How much longer? Have some consistency; if I didn't I'd be considered a bad employee. What a pathetic piece of shit for a company and what an awful start to what appears to be typical for Winn Dixie: treating it's employees like shit. I wasted the gas going out there, that's money just thrown away.

Fuck. I don't whether to see this through since it pays so well, or just say fuck you, I deserve to be treated with more dignity and I walk. Man, even Food World didn't pull shit like this on me, and it got pretty bad there toward the end.
Man, if this isn't selling my soul for money I don't know what is. They keep spitting on me and I just have to keep sucking it up. Nice.

Yeah, maybe the better business bureau, or corporate Winn Dixie. I'm not the only one they've done this to, they've even had people quit and go to the store I used to work at. Money or respect, that's my choice here. Very frustrating.

Winn-Dixie's hiring policy is pretty shitty about that. They started it and then wondered

Um, gee, I dunno -MAYBE its because its a minimum wage effing job(usually) and it takes 5 months to get in the damn system- by them your average min wage employee has moved on to flipping burgers ,Just a guess. I only worked there for 5 yrs what would I know.

think they accidentally didnt put your info in the system before? watch it totally disappear and you never get hired..

I never said I'd let my bills sit, HHB. I'm bitching BECAUSE waiting for this job is causing my bills to sit. I have a backup plan. I can go back to Food World if I absolutely have to. Shit money is better than no money. Pardon me for wanting to be treated like a person, but the main issue here is that I need money and I'm going to get it one way or another, whether that means waiting for this job or going back to the old one.

And just for the record I happen to care a hell of a lot about having a job. These past two months have been hell. I happen to like to work, I'm not a lazy fuck.

 

Lol. That's so weird. It's a grocery store, very popular one in America. Most states have one, I think. Publix and Food World and Albertson's on the other hand tend to be isolated to certain states.

the time is coming where any job is better than no job.. unemployments sky rocketing and people are beginning to take whatever they can get..
i would pick where you felt most benefited you regardless of the bad side of the job and be happy and keep my mouth shut if i were you..

I've been at my job as a dispatcher for 4 1/2 years now, and have taken abuse and being treated like absolute shit that not has it not changed, it's getting worse all the time. Yet I try to keep a positive additude every day when I go in and deal with it, do the best of my ability, and do work that is not required of me at most given oppuritunities. Sometimes however, I get so frustrated and so emotionally bent over how Im yelled at or what get's blamed on me due to my boss' temper and cultural upbringing that I get a little lazy here and there and put off doing certain things for later.
But the reality is, most of our jobs suck, and many of us are treated like useless, incompetent, and ignorant bums who get no respect and no words of praise when we go above and beyond what we get paid for. Im not saying that you dont have a right to be hurt or upset, but in all honesty, its something that for now your going to have to get used to, so you should probably try and channel your negative energy elsewhere. Using the boards to vent will more than likely get you negative comments, but if thats what you have to do to keep your cool than that's a good thing. Trust me, when you have to survive and pay bills, there is no such things as selling out your soul for money. I cant tell you how many times I've had to zip my mouth shut in ugly situations at work when either Im being blamed for something that isnt my fault, or Im watching other employees take a mental (sometimes physical, the company I work for operates in very funny way ) beating because they happen on a nearly daily basis.
You just have to keep your cool, go to work and do what's expected of you, and feed your family and pay your bills, any attachment to allowing the negativity which the business world activity is entirely involved in will only harm yourself. Just try your best to go with the flow, and as long as the mistreatment is not physical or sexual or something else severe along those lines, just bite your lip and smile and nod.

Actually Winn- Dixie is a florida based grocery chain with only a few other stores in other southern states.

Yea that's what I thought. Im in Philadelphia and never seen one up here, but when I was in Ocala, FL there was one. Food Lion is not in PA either as far as Im aware, typically we deliver to VA and south for them. Up here, it's Giant, Acme, Genaurdis, Superfresh, and a few others. But Foodlion, WinnDixie, and Piggly Wiggly places are in the south.

personally i would keep the job... very few employers go out of their way to help their employees, and if they do, their superiors will get rid of them... so you are likely to find similar situations wherever you go to work. if they are truly the spawns of satan that you claim, then work there while you are looking for a better job, and once you find it you can tell winndixie to fuck off
