    3 egg whites, 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3 cups sugar, 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 tablespoon gelatin. Mix egg whites, cream of tartar, salt, and sugar until creamy. In a seprate bowl, add boiling water to the gelatin until it is dissolved. Add gelatin to the egg mixture, beating until thick. Frost as usual and then use a hair dryer to "blow-dry" the frosted surface of the cake. The slight melting of the frosting gives it that smooth, lustrous appearance.

    Place a miniature marshmallow over the point of each toothpick. Insert toothpicks into the cake with the marshmallows facing up. Lay the plastic wrap over the marshmallows.
