I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with fleas that don't seem to respond to Frontline? We've used Frontline Plus on our cats, every three weeks for 3 or 4 rounds of treatment, and our cats still have fleas. (They're totally indoors.)

Any suggestions for another product to try? We've just always used Frontline on our vet's recommendation.

    Thanks!

    Suggestion:
This happened to my family once. It was because there were fleas and their little spawn all over the house. I don't know if that's the case for you, but if it is, flea bomb. After that, we had no trouble. Make sure that's the problem first though. You don't want to hit your entire house with that stuff for no reason.

Great way to spend the whole day outside though.

Frontline is crap. It's never worked well for me. I use Advantage or Advantix and it works well. You have to keep using it every month for like 3 months to kill the baby fleas that are still in eggs when you first put it on, but eventually it clears your pets, your house, and your hard of fleas. The way Advantage works is whenever a flea jumps on your pet, the chemical immediately sterilizes them so they can't lay eggs. This cuts down on the number of eggs laid and waiting ready to hatch while it kills the adults, and eventually there just aren't anymore.

Make sure you vaccuum the shit out of your house (pretty much constantly) while you're using it.

Please note that AdvanTIX cannot be used on cats. it's highly toxic to them.

I do second trying AdvanTAGE. When we had a horrible flea problem (the cat room was so infested, the fleas would swarm you when you walked in. truly horrifying). Switching from frontline to advantage killed them and kept them away. As did tossing all fabric not nailed down in the room!

Thanks for the suggestions/advice, everyone! I'm going to try some Advantage and obsessively doing laundry and vacuuming. (Crossing my fingers in hopes of avoiding an exterminator. . .)
