The arrests were made on March 27th.

The suspects originally came under scrutiny during a national child pornography enforcement operation called "Operation Falcon."

The two suspects were contacted in Oregon and were found to be in possession of multiple child pornography images. Work by detectives at the Salem Oregon Police Department led to the identification of an additional 12-year-old victim, who had been exploited by Blacksmith and Evans.

Police say the two apparently fled Oregon and came to Pasadena in an attempt to avoid prosecution.

Pasadena Police set up surveillance and arrested the two suspects when they were leaving their apartment. Detectives discovered more child pornography inside the apartment the two rented. That resulted in additional charges being filed with the California courts.

PASADENA - Two men who fled Oregon to avoid prosecution in a child pornography case were arrested in Pasadena on suspicion of child pornography and sexual abuse, authorities said Thursday.

Robert Lee Blacksmith, 40, and Chad Lewis Evans, 19, were arrested March 27 after detectives discovered alleged child pornography in their apartment, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

The two men were originally investigated in Oregon as part of a national child pornography enforcement operation called "Operation Falcon." There, Blacksmith and Evans allegedly had pictures of adults engaging in sexual acts with young children, according to Pasadena police.

Detectives in Oregon also identified a 12-year-old in Florida who was allegedly "exploited" by the men. Police allege the two men fled to Pasadena to avoid prosecution in Oregon. Blacksmith and Evans were being held without bail and are due in Superior Court Division 30 in Los Angeles at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
