i lived between sacramento and reno along the i-80 corridor most of my life. most of it in placer county though. i'm living in reno now. i've become skeptical about people calling themselves any of the genre i'm interested in. i like quiet people or no people, quiet and interesting places. ended up in reno because one of my other interests, furry, people sharing a house, save money on rent. that was five years ago now. that shared house no longer is, and rent is going up and my pension isn't. i moved back to my part of cali in 87 from oregon where i'd been since 77. other then the north or the mountains climate too warm for me, but the called me back, well it was time then. i'm closer in reno then i was in the valley, don't know where i'll end up, maybe where i am, but i'm thinking i might like eugene or ashland if i ever get a chance to move again. auburn never felt right, even though i graduated high school there. colfax i grew up in, from the middle of third grade to the middle of my last year of high school, so, you know, the smell of pine needles and all the little creatures that live in the forest feels like home to my spirit like no place else ever has. truckee i started kindergarten, and roseville i lived too many years, too warm, but i did like fry's and the train store. what reno has isn't what interests me and what interests me it doesn't much have. i guess not many places probably do. i make pictures now is what i do. like an old guy i knew when i was little. except i make them in 3d inside the computer. still my first love is model trains, but i prefer imaginary odd ones. really small ones. these and their world i make myself too. i'm not much good of what people today think means hippie. i prefer my perfectly good imagination instead of mind altering substances, and i never really did care for loud anything. just the universal wonder of strangeness, and the seemingly endless diversity in the wide, not so much the narrow sense, beyond the boundries of anyone's familiarity. the twistiness of odd shapes of constructed things in harmony with those of nature. that's why science fiction, odd little railways, environment, furry, and hippie all at once and together.
