I am currently listening to a CD of my friend's marked "Fripp & Eno", and I'm entranced. Can you recommend me anything else like this?
Ive only heard some of no pussyfooting, which i liked. Matt can help you with this, but id check out some more Eno.
Fripp & Eno recorded two albums together under the Fripp & Eno name, though Fripp appears on several Eno albums as well. The first Fripp & Eno album, from 1973, is titled No Pussyfooting - as Ed mentioned. The second Fripp & Eno album was released a year later, and is titled Evening Star. The albums were recorded using a tape delay system which Eno and Fripp invented together, called Fripptronics. This was largely inspired by the tape delay systems that people such as Terry Riley and Pauline Oliveros were using nearly a decade before. Using Fripptronics, Fripp's guitar and Eno's various electronic effects would be fed through this tape loop delay system, creating a slowly-evolving layered effect, leading up to a blanket of densely layered and electronically treated sound towards the end of the process. Fripp then would play solo over these layers of sound. This is highlighted best on 'No Pussyfooting,' which is more like an actual experiment. 'Evening Star' is more refined and structured, and sees the duo using Fripptronics in a more subdued and accessible way. I personally prefer the latter of the two - simply because it is much more enjoyable to listen to - though the former is also great. It's not for everyone, though. I have played it to some people and they said they found it to be boring. To each their own, I guess. You might also be interested in Eno's ambient work (particularly his Discreet Music album from 1975), as well as the works of Terry Riley, Philip Glass and Harold Budd, to name a few. While they don't sound exactly like what Fripp & Eno were doing, they employed similar methods of recording, and to a somewhat similar effect.
in the 80's fripp did an album called 'discipline' which is very good. All eno's stuff is great! Particular faves of mine are 'before and after science', 'apollo -atmospheres and soundtacks' 'old land'. Check out also 'plateaux of mirrors' by Eno and Harold Budd.
That was actually recorded under the King Crimson name. Yes, those are all fantastic albums (though I think you meant On Land, not "Old Land"). Before and After Science is at the top of my list, and is probably one of my favorite albums of all-time.

fripp and eno sound very different from king crimson, but i agree that people should check them out. theyre one of my favorite bands, and Fripp an amazing guitarist, easily one of the best.
Fripp released a solo LP some years back entitled EXPOSURE......it has more of that tape-looparama, but it also has some pretty stunning songs as well. "North Star" comes to mind.....I would call that album a must-have if you have any interest in Fripp......
'Exposure' is a great album. I'm more of a Fripp follower than of Eno. 'The Bridge Between' is a great album, with Fripp working with the California Guitar Trio and Trey Gunn.
I already have Eno's Another Green World and Ambient 1: Music for Airports. I must say I like the latter best.
