haha its funny because many women are interested in talking and asking advice for their problems (i mean just look at this forum), but if i take what you say as true, then that would mean that although they are interested in asking for advice, and by doing so, they are looking for ways to make themselves feel better, rather than actually do anything to solve the problem. So the woman who posed the question about her friend is not really looking for a possible solution and if there is a possible solution presented, she will completely ignore it, but she wants responses because she feels better when she reads them, thats about it and anyone's comments, responses on this subject or any subject posed for a woman will be completely ignored because she does what she sees fit, the most you can do is make her feel better.
That doesn't mean that outside input isn't still appreciated and taken into consideration. Women aren't alone in this either ; EVERYBODY, at one point or another in their lives, will ask the advice of others regarding some situation in their life. This doesn't necessarily mean they are going to follow the advice given to a tee. But they can can still consider and appreciate it.
