Wow! wouldn't be too popular walking across the living room carpet with those soles!

i know I worked on the garden outdoors today and was stomping dirt barefoot.. It was amazing.. :D

then while painting the gutters still I took burnt red and went on my soles and walked a little on the roof leaving tracks.. :D

actually tar wouldn't be my best loved surface to tread on barefoot. it is toxic and a damned poison overall but i guess it cant do much harm each now and then. i believe that's going to keep your soles black for quite some time though.

I did this on holiday in cornwall once, the road to the hotel from the beach had only just been resurfaced!! It wasnt too hot, must have been sitting for like a half hour or so, it felt awesome - really gooey and sticky! My feet were black for ages - wouldnt come off properly for weeks. Of course my mates all thought i was mad, but i thought what the hell, its probably the only chance ill ever get!!

This is all very interesting to me. When I was a kid I totally wanted to do this, figuring my feet would be black for a year. Only thing stopping me was certain death by parent. I love the picture. Maybe this summer when they redo some roads in town......

In the meantime, I think NY and the subways are calling me for a visit tomorrow. Almost as good.

Now soft, freshly laid pavement I can understand, but how anyone can put a happy smiley below a picture of such pollution, is beyond me. I'm not one of those treehugging hippies who is against *all* asphalt, oil, roads etc -people have to be able to drive, fuel their cars, etc- but this is just gross, don't y'all care for our planet at all? :ack2:

  19. This thread manifestly does NOT concern environmental awareness.........

I do have an environmental sensibility, but I also like to drive on roads without potholes. Since the tar is just an ingredient of asphalt this does not rise to a level of concern for the planet or the galaxy for that matter. And besides, like I said, I would definitely like to do that.
