this is how i make it

get some sliced bread, even stale wonder bread works fine. then dip it in scrambled eggs, and fry it in an oiled pan
when you mix up the eggs put cinamnimon, nutmeg, salt and some honey into it. I just usualy wing it with the spices, some days it tastes better than others.

then once its done i butter it, then pour maple syrup onto it.

You can buy them in a packet in Tesco. french toast is too crunchy.I prefer fried toast or eggy bread. Or canadian pancakes with maple syrup.

I love french toast very much...I got a very nice recipe for all french toast lovers..

    Banana-Raisin French Toast

    Ingredients

    1 each banana, ripe, peeled
    2 teaspoon frozen orange-juice concentrate
    4 piece cinnamon-raisin bread
    2 each large egg white
    1/4 cup skim milk
1/4 cup plain nonfat yogurt, or low-fat yogurt
1 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup, or honey
    1 teaspoon butter

    Cook:10 Min (cooking time)

    Preparation

    1. In a small, shallow bowl, mash banana coarsely with a fork. Stir in orange-juice concentrate. Spread the banana mixture over half the slices of bread and top with the remaining bread slices, forming 2 sandwiches. In a pie plate, whisk together egg whites and milk; add sandwiches and soak for about 20 seconds. Turn sandwiches over and soak for 20 seconds longer.

    2. In a small bowl, stir together the yogurt and maple syrup or honey. Set aside. In a nonstick skillet, melt half the butter over low heat. Tilt the pan to swirl the butter around the skillet. With a metal spatula, place the sandwiches in the pan, and cook until the underside is browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Lift the sandwiches and add the remaining butter. Turn over and cook for 5 to 7 minutes longer, or until browned. Serve with sweetened yogurt.

I was always under the impression that wonder bread nover got stale,
but stayed soft on the shelf till the mold took control. [IMG]

Coconut French Toast with Mango. In a shallow bowl, whisk together 1 cup coconut milk,2 tablespoons sugar, and 4 large eggs. Spread out 1 & a half cups shredded sweetened dried coconut on a plate.Dip the thick slices crusty bread in the egg mixture and then dip in the coconut, amply coating the bread. Melt 6 tablespoons unsalted butter on a griddle over medium-high heat.Cook until the coconut is a golden brown, about 4 minutes each side and the middle isn't soft or soggy. Serve hot, topped with maple syrup and mango slices.
