I'm a big fan of French movies. I really liked Amelie Poulain, Love Me If You Dare, With Love From The Age of Reason, The City of Lost Children, A Very Long Engagement...I would appreciate if someone could list more that I should watch. Some that are as good as these. Thanks.

    Peace

I don't watch many french movies, but, off the top of my head :
    - De battre mon coeur s'est arrêté
    - Le goût des autres
    - Nikita
    - Cuisine et dépendances
    - Papa
None of those are romantic movies though, sorry.
    :)

I dont know if Quebec movies count but ''1981'' and ''c'est pas moi je le jure'' are both excellent films.

    Le trio infernal(drama)
    la piscine(comedy, crime)
Belle de Jour (sexy Catherine Deneuve! <3)
    Potiche ("The Trophy Wife",funny CD)
Bienvenue chez les ch'tis (even funnier: Danny Boon <3 <3)

Well, those are the first off the top of my head. Each is enjoybale in its own right. Also, IF you like musicals I could also recommend "8 Women" (with Catherine Deneuve, of course ;) )

La Haine was pretty good, in a depressing sort of way.

Are you familiar with a French actor named Louis Garrel? He's currently the love of my life (oh, how I wish)

Some really good movies he's been in:

    La belle personne
    Ma mère
    Les chansons d'amour
    Dans paris
    The Dreamers
    Un été brûlant

Amelie is one of my favorite movies. Apart from that I also really love a film called La Haine and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet seen it. I recently saw the Intouchables which was surprisingly good, its on Redbox now if anyone is interested in a touching film that will make you laugh.
