Tripod has the simplest User Interface, but they are S-L-O-W!!! I used to have to refresh all the time!

I use 250free.com, as you'll get 250 MB space, 250 MB / month bandwidth, fast loading, and they allow remote-hotlinking. ;)

Tripod has MANY templates for New users to choose from. A pretty easy to use page builder, and it supports Sound on pages. Good experience for Newbies.

I tried 250free, it was a PAIN in the ASS... kept crashing every 5 seconds!

I finally just went with geocities cuz the ads aren't as obnoxious as tripods.

Amen to THAT! When I used Tripod? There were about 100 Pop-up, Pop-Under, and other type of ads! The banners are the WORST! When using FrontPage, they actually SAVE to your computer! You have to look for the code to get rid of the damned things.

You don't get alot of space on Geocities, or bandwidth, and that can be a real pain in the ass but there are ways around it. Right now my biggest "site" is actually like 3, all mushed together. At least that keeps them from shutting it off altogether when I've gone over my hourly BW. It's really annoying when you have an image gallery or anything like that, but it's free so hey, what can you say? Overall i think i like geocities a little more, at least their ads aren't all in your face.

Hmm now THERE's an idea, I didn't think of that. I do have a lot of pictures, it makes my bandwidth shoot through the roof!
