Check it out...send it to your friends who are considering going veg...or people who are new to the lifestyle. http://www.goveg.com/order.asp
Back before I knew much about PeTA, in 2004, I ordered that. All it is is a pamphlet with quotes from celebrities who are vegans/vegetarians, a few "meat is murder!" stickers, and another pamphlet on the benefits of a veg diet. I thought it would have recipes and things to substitute for meat (and/or egg, milk, and other dairy products).
I think it may have changed since you ordered it...It's a magazine now, with some recipes in it...and lot's of great articles and pictures. You can read it online if you click the .pdf file there, but I recommend ordering it because it's easier to read more and take in information when your not staring into a computer screen hurting your eyes...Plus it's fun to get packages in the mail~!! You can also subscribe to another free magazine PETA has somewhere on their website...which always has new recipes in it. Theres also tons of recipes on their website, and tons more on the google.
I got it about a year ago. It was ok. It had info on factory farms and the things animals have to go through. It had some recipes and info on changing your diet and how a vegan diet is better for the environment and your health. Plus it had a list of celebrities that are veg*an. I got a dvd with mine but I never watched it. After seening the pictures in the magazine I didn't want to actually watch what the animals have to go through in action. It is good for the price.
I didn't find it very helpful either. Maybe because I already knew about all the factory farming stuff, and everything else was really US-centric* so irrelevant to me. This one is far better... To read = http://www.tryveg.com To download = http://www.tryveg.com/img/vsg0501.pdf To order = http://www.tryveg.com/request/ *the 'UK version' is the same, aside from the contacts page. Which is pretty lazy on their part, but yeah like I'd expected better.
I had to chuckle when I saw in there that Clint Eastwood is a vegetarian. I just can't imagine the most badass gunslinger in town chomping down on...broccoli? after cappin a few indians
Yup, a lot of badasses are vegetarian or vegan. Ya know, meat can lead to impotence. It's hard to be a badass with a limp dick. Hehehe! Also, meat is acidic (your body is healthiest when slightly alkaline), and contributes to many other health problems like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, constipation, etc, etc... so sounds like Clint Eastwood has it figured out.
