Anyone know where I can get some free music downloads? I'm particularly looking for "I-Fell-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag" by Country Joe.

These are Peer To Peer filesharing programs. Very good ones.
Once you get past the Spyware.

yeah, ad-aware and bazooka scanner get rid of all the crap that comes bundled with it. you can get those at www.download.com
i recommend getting both of the aforementioned spyware-removal programs.

yeah, there's no spyware with that.. i can hardly ever download from it, though. dunno why, prolly something to do with 56k.

thread starter: if you've got a 56k connection, you should DL bearshare.

Soulseek is nothing compared to DC++, the problem is that I had NO clue what to do but a friend of mine told me what to do and now it's working like a jewel. I had Soulseek before DC++ but it was nowhere as good, I can find EVERYTHING I want on DC++ and overall it's faster, too. DC++ is 100% adware-free.

Haha, friends of mine also use DC++, but I just don't get the hang of it. Soulseek works for me, I can find almost anything on it... and sometimes I look for very rare things.

Me too... but with DC++ I find things I couldn't while on Soulseek. Apart from searching for uncommon music, I also want it exclusively (or strongly preferred though) 128 kb/sec., while 192 kb/sec. is more of a standard bitrate. With DC++ I more often find what I want, and more often in the bitrate I want it in.

i think bittorrent is the way to go, especially for rare and live music. If u get a bittorent downloader than check out dimeadozen.org or torrentspy.com and there are many other bittorent sites.
