You're punning on the words "collectivist" and "collectivism". An individualist can hate people of other races and therefore be a racist. Obviously, they prefer people of their own race, but don't have to be "collectivist" about it.

Up to a point, beyond which backlash may correct that situation.

You can have your problems with Fox. It is a mainstream media outlet after all. But, the distinction they have is a clear delineation between what's offered as news and what's offered as opinion. That distinction is far less emphasized on many other outlets such as CNN for example where the line can be pretty blurry. And Fox is more apt to present both sides to a story when calling it news. When it comes to opinion on either side, that's, well, opinion. We must decide who we allow to assign us our opinion -- consciously or unconsciously.

None of us should consider ourselves "informed" unless we're looking at what both sides have to say. And something reported just on one side is likely to be fake. If both sides are reporting it then we can be more apt to accept it as true. And yet we owe it to ourselves to be skeptical, especially with new stories.

Not really, although they can fit under the same umbrella. It's largely a matter of degree.

I don't think you are getting my point.

If I use the words Social democracy on this forum... There are several of our members that see those words, but they register as the word communism in their brains.

You're right. They have the same reaction to the word "liberal" (or "librul", as they often call it). Which is why it's probably futile to talk to them. The only purpose would be to educate those who are listening in.

Only way to silence trolls is to just not respond to them.

We know Betsy Ross was a member of the Quaker community and they rejected slavery. But there is no historical documentation which provides her views in slavery.
Hell for all we know she could have beaten them with a whip, or conversely had her pick of Mandingo's.for a little love tussle

What we do know is George Washington owned and bought slaves, and although he wrote in his will that they should be freed upon his death, it didn’t happen.

True, but that Australian guy really gets to me. I know it shouldn't. If I ever had the misfortune to meet him. I'd have to kick him in the ass.

They don't do this at all. They peddle nonsense and present it as fact. Only when they are sued do they hide behind calling it entertainment and free speech. The viewer is meant to think they 100% of the time they tell the truth and they are the only place to get the truth. It's the heart of the conservative identity. The world is against them even going as far as doctors hating them and literally the entire world of education above the 10th grade. Even 11th grade in high school is bad because kids take a goverment class where they are total socialism is not just the USSR. If Fox was really what they claim to be they would be clear on what an opinion which is about 95% of the network. Some white person who if they are women is attractive speaking on medical and political issues when they have no education or understanding of the topic beyond their feelings that it somehow is unfair to them as white Americans.

Fox "news" has been caught numerous making their "corrections" & "retractions" at 3:00 am when hardly anyone is awake to see & hear that they made mistakes and publicized false statements. This is contrary to what NBC or ABC or CBS news outlets do. I've seen with my own eyes & heard with my own ears when they make corrections - they do it in prime time on their evening news broadcasts when the largest viewership is tuned in. FACT.

I'm just passing on what the smarter people have observed. It's entirely up to each of us as individuals what we do with that information.

When did they retract their original stories about the covenant kids?
How about when they reported that the president called the white supremacists "fine people" when even the dumbest person can hear him clearly say "I'm not taking about them" (antifa and white supremacists).
How can anyone with any power of observation not realize why they've been labeled "fake news"?

The problem with the ignorant is they are always the most sure they are right. The conspiracy/right wing world is very appealing to these people because they get to feel special. Life is chaos but THEY have it all figured out so they have comfort. No one else is as smart as them and the more official and educated someone is the more they will feel threatened by them.

So for example a doctor is the perfect person to lie about your health and NASA are the people to lie about space. The only reason they would get educated is to fool the sheep who think college= knowledge and we know how Fox feels about college. The real truth is on Facebook for those with a 7th grade education.

The truth will change depending on if the establishment says it's good. Like with Covid before the US goverment said wear a mask the consensus in the right wing world was that you should avoid public places and mask up. The sheep are not doing it and they are not even carrying their Ar-15 into Burger King. They are asking for death and you will not. In general this community has always had a problem with crowded areas. It means people will compete for their resources and big population tends to mean liberal thinking so they have preferred to avoid everyone.

Does that sound like Fox's view on education and the truth? I think so. I say that as someone who likes a good conspiracy theory.
