Has anyone watched fox news? They claim they only speak the truth. Its should be called the republican news channel "the source of truth". You would never see news broadcasted this way in Canada. heres a great link for you folks who love fox news. http://www.georgewbush.com
You're a liberal- of course Fox News seems right-wing. If you look at the whole picture of the way the media is slanted to the left usually (ie: ABC, CBS, CNN, NYT, ect.), Fox News is pretty moderate.
I'd like to think that i am a pragmatist, i am above the little 'right wing, left wing' labels that get applied. (even though most of my values lean towards left wing). But fox news is a terrible excuse for a network, they tend to focus on sensationial stories I.e. rape, weather.... more than the other networks, their language is pretty dumbed down, and they do lean very far to the right (more so than the other networks lean left). And i think it's kindof interesting that people still believe that alot of that liberal media b.s. I mean, the most repeated claim is that reporters vote democrat more often than republican, but that is like saying that sunoco is liberterian or communist leaning because i work at one of their gas stations. (on a side note, isn't it interesting that people who spend their lives getting informed on the issues vote democrat?)
All i know is Fox news was told only to report pro american news. Nothing anti-american or the truth on how cruel this war is agianst the civilians of Iraq. They were afraid of there sponsors pulling out if they did not paint a positive picture. Here in Canada i watch news on cbc or pbs and they do not pull punches. They report what is seen. At times very graphic, but at least its not candy coated. If you were to watch the news during the invasion you would see a massive difference between CBC and CNN.
I watch NewsWorld from Canada, Deutche Welle from Germany, and NHK from Japan. They have a totally different perspective compared with the U.S. tabloid corporate news networks. Most of the international news networks give mostly facts without all the political gossip and rant. There's also no continuing saga of the Scott Peterson case. It's a breath of fresh air compared with the stale U.S. news networks.
Whenever I watch fox news I always see a right wing conservative tearing into liberal views, with no one there for rebuttal. They are so shameless about it, it is sad. GEts them ratings though. Even us liberals will tune in to see what kind of bullshit right-winger they will have on next.
The media may have been slanted to the left 30 years ago but that clearly isn't true now. All of the moderators of MSNBC are conservative. They fired Phil Donahue in spite of the fact that he had the highest rated show on the network. The reason given was that a show commentator can not disagree with the president in a time of war. ABC is owned by Disney who wouldn’t distribute F9-11. The only people who say that the media is slanted to the left are republican pundits.
A movie has actually been made about how FOX News is controlled by the big businesses and only reports on what is good for the Bush Admin. http://www.outfoxed.org There are some interesting video clips to check out... some of which are actually kind of funny.
heheh sorry did not mean to rehash old shit. I did not see that thread. But don't be afraid to input anyway.
Um. . .You know ABC is owned by Disney, right? And that Disney is a conservative organization, right? So now, what makes you think ABC is liberal?
True, very true, which is why I don't watch it. But then I don't watch any news channel because you don't get any real news these days. Everything is tailored, everything.
One of the TV evangelists (Falwell, I think) said the purple teletubby is promoting the gay lifestyle because he's purple, and purple is the gay color.
' Disney a conservative organization? I'm sorry but all I have to say about that is that I'm laughin my ass off at you.
