bought a half of hydro wasnt to bad found 1 seed in a bud what causes this. was this pot female or a hermie or does this happn all the time?
Thats is one possible there where hemi's or even male plants. But even without males or hemi's you can still get the odd seed if you bloom for too long (over ripe) normally the smoke will taste soapy and the bud will have an extended growth on top like a little thin willie. But since you only found one seed should of still tasted quite good.
most likely either: a) the grower also breeds and some pollen escaped the breeding chamber and got to the females b) the grower was a few days late in culling the males, and an early pollen sack opened. c) the female had a hermaphrodite flower (not rare) my last grow had a handful of pollen saks between the 3 females. Ive pulled about 10 seeds from 4oz of bud, and many immature seeds. still perfectly good, smokable bud though
hello there tee44 several possibilities with your hydro 1. the plant was stressed in some way and created a few male flowers that self-pollinated the plant and only created a few seeds on the buds that were pollinated when this happens the seeds are normally not viable as the plant has already expended most of it's energy creating sensimilla 2. the plant was a hermie, however there would more than likely be more seeded bud if this was the case and you would have more seeds male plants do not produce buds or thc they are only good for breeding female plants that are allowed to flower for 10-14 days after they are ripe will be stressed into making male flowers that can be harvested and the pollen used to pollinate plants that are of the same strain to produce all female seed or it could be used to cross two strains the pollen if kept in the fridge is good for two months the plants to be pollinated have to be in the 3-4 week of flower hope it's not too long winded take care and enjoy your smoke
We're talking about 10 seeds to the 1/8th when its starts getting soapy. like what i scored on new years eve lol lol lol lol.
