How many real relationship have you established in the forum. Do you feel trust for these people more so than other in the the rest of the forums?
I have been a Hipforums member for about 5 years now, though I tend to lurk more then post unless something ruffles my feathers or sparks my interest. I have told people on these forums more then I tell most of my family. The Women's Issues forum has always been a warm, embracing, supportive, environment.
You mean, Women's Issues? Or the whole of the forum? I know most of my forums-friends from multiple forums in the hip universe. But in the scope of the whole of the forums, oh yeah, I have some great relationships from the forums... My fiance, a friend that lives about an hour from us who recently came to our babyshower, a friend in Canada that we visited around Thanksgiving, a friend from england that will be my maid-of-honour, as well as a couple that I have yet to meet but they are in my thoughts about as often as the ones I have met. I trust the people on this forum. Most things are said in PM or IM though...Because some of the forumers aren't the type I like to confide in.
even when we yell at each other! Otter def. has her head on straight, but we will always disagree on some things. I first signed up in 1998-99 with a different name. I use this as a vent from my sometimes irritating job (that yeah, some folks on here would kill for), I've found sources for articles, made real friends in the BM( brick and mortar) world, made simple net buddies and hopefully, helped someone through some tough times. If I make a few people laugh, all the better.
