What goverment would that be, the Republican controlled presidency and congress? Probably since that is how politics tend to flow. Either party has control and looses it when the other can convince the people it's the other guys fault.

Most Americans call their own government evil and, like it or not, republicans are half the population. A democracy that cannot embrace half its population is a joke in bad taste, which is what we have. Money and the gun do all the talking worth listening to, in modern day Babylon.

There is a lot in the Constitution people don't take as Gospel.

The Constitution is, well, like Gospel. People pick and choose what they want.

So, in that regard--you're right! People do take the Constitution as Gospel! Wow! Shit!

    You're on to something

If this is the case why do they hate Democrats so much? You are right people need to accept different opinions but the war with those who don't like Trump has gone beyond talking. Espeicly with gun laws and Russia being discussed many on the right are openly advocating domestic terrorism. People who don't support Trump are not American they are Communist so we should use the second amendment to kill them before they take our guns and unfairly impeach the greatest leader in American history.

One in five Americans insists the sun revolves around the earth. In ten years of my asking, not one knew the common dictionary is as common as dirt, merely containing the most popular definitions, and over half admitted to enjoying debating their own definitions. These people have no clue whatsoever how to organize and might as well be cattle being herded into the slaughter house. The only thing they care about is which candidate can either cut their taxes or create better jobs. After half a century of voting for whichever clown screams the loudest, they voted for the Duck because he did not have the support of the republican party leaders.

You have to be smarter than a chicken, for politics to have any meaning. Forty years of studies have concluded the republican party is organized along the same lines as a flock of chickens. They are only now becoming dimly aware of the limitations of the monster they have created. Germany became a much better country, once the international community smacked them down hard and rebuilt their government, insisting they were complete idiots and need to get their act together. None of this "I was just following orders" crap! Pull all of your fucking heads out of your collective asses!

That's what the civil war was about, only reconstruction merely made a bad situation worse. Politics is the personal if you happen to own slaves, beat your wife and kids, and thump the Bible. Soon enough, the republican party may find itself disbanded, simply because there is no proof that we are still a democracy. Why listen to complete idiots trying to kill everyone? Smack em down hard and see if that gets their attention. The Duck not being Hitler is not reassuring, nor is Fox News a reliable source. Twenty percent of the population dictating everyone else's lives is not a long term solution.

It might seem like the Republicans are half the population or more, especially if you watch Fox, but it isn't quite that bad. By registration, Democrats (40.30%), Republican (29.57%), as of July 2017. By inclinations, according to the Gallup polls, as of the end of last year, only 37% of voters were Republican identifiers or leaners, down 5 percentge points from Trump's electoral victory. compared with 44% for Democrats. The rest are Independents or followers of third parties.Democratic Party Maintains Edge in Party Affiliation

Independents like the sound of their own voices, which is why they almost always vote republican. The republican party is falling apart at the seams. If it gets any worse, the entire party will have to be restructured just to be able to pretend they are actually organized. First the Tea Party split off and began dictating the party's path, now the Duck is elected against the wishes of the party leaders. There was never any real party to begin with, and the illusion is breaking down fast. A republican who embraces the majority is no longer a republican, conservatives who embrace democracy have become a contradiction in terms.

Give us more guns and money, or else...
The Tea Party is in no way affiliated with white supremacists, despite that describing almost all their membership. Americans can be a nasty bunch, lower than the lowest of the low, whenever guns and money are involved.

And they still couldn't win...not the House, not the Senate, not the Presidency.

That's kinda worthy of an explanation.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, "Me thinks familiarity doth breed self-loathing and contempt." Sometimes, a shower isn't enough to make you feel clean. If the republican party becomes anymore unhinged they will certainly never need any oil, because those doors are flying right off their hinges.

If "they" is the Democrats, they did win the Presidency for two terms thru 2016 and took Congress for a term in 2008.. But political scientists Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson think that Republicans of late have enjoyed two major advantges: the u.s. senate is designed to over-represent small rural states; and the GOP used its advantage in the state houses after the state legislative gains from the "Republican revolution of 1995 and the Obamacare backlash, to ruthlessly gerrymander themselves into a dominant position in the House of Representatives. Also, the party with more affluent and older voters tends to have the higher turnout. That happens to be the Republican Party.

Its insane to blame either party, when the simple truth is republicans vote democrat whenever the crap hits the fan. Obama would never, ever, ever have been elected, if not for Bush wreaking the entire world economy. The same people who voted for Obama, just elected the Duck and, very likely, will elect Oprah into office unless the Duck can avoid complete disaster and, somehow, pull a miracle out of his fat ass. The money is doing all the driving, which is why we now vote for whoever advertises the most, or is the loudest clown in town.

    Stooges

The constitution has become an expensive piece of toilet paper,
While even republican party members don't trust each other,
Much less trust fancy words like democracy!
These people rant about a culture of entitlement,
While they make unrealistic demands on their government to cut taxes.
That's why its now illegal to vote for Mickey Mouse in the state of Maryland,
A modern day tribute to the republican party,
And the miracle of libertarian theology.
All the candidates in Maryland promised ridiculous tax cuts nobody could pull off.
But, of course, they couldn't compete with Mickey!
Who would cripple their entire economy!
Pretending its not just about money,
Or you can vote for who you want,
Is what capitalism is all about.
If you can't dazzle em with brilliance, baffle em with bullshit.
If all hell breaks loose, either use someone as a shield,
Or Duck as low as you can possibly go,
And attempt to make sure nobody ever laughs in your face.
For being a complete idiot, as transparent as a two year old,
Caught with their hand in the cookie jar and the liquor cabinet,
Cussing you out for disturbing them while they watch porn.
Once I overheard a three year old playing with a toy telephone,
He screamed: You better pay me back the money you owe me bitch!
Or I'll kill you! That is the mentality of modern day American politics.
The Three Stooges are all the lowbrow slapstick you'll ever need to know.

    Oh.

I thought the post I was quoting was referencing the last election.

    Was I incorrect?

In fact the right to bear arms is itself an amendment. It’s not part of the original constitution

I agree with you, but republicans/conservatives don't like change. Scalia said that the constitution was static.
all bow down to the memory of Scalia, not.

Not at all. I was just putting it in a broader perspective.

Tell ya what. I'll agree to revise or repeal the 2nd Aenebdment if you will agree to do the same to the 14th. It's outdated as well.
