running my first soup du jour tomorrow. I want to wow people any suggestions? I'm looking at you joker and treken:chef:
vomit soup. just eat a bunch of weird shit (indian food, chili, red wine[lots], and swallow a bunch of vegetables somewhat whole), vomit into a pot, heat, serve
something with a good mouth feel, im a sucker for potato soups. make it with cream and its luscious. so i would say- baked potato soup. we had a fluke soup we are trying to duplicate, we cant remember how we made it, but its main ingredients are asparagus and avocado. and i am not a huge fan of either, although asparagus is growing on me. awesome soup. or a chowder! i like corn chowder
regurgitated on the real tip, my mom just made 'white chili' it's 'chili' made with chicken and white beans(?) suuuper good
potato soup is a good option because they are still in season. I use a lot of leeks and a few mushrooms in mine, which are also in season. Granted you don't buy ones that are imported of course. To kick it up a notch, make your own chicken stock. curry coconut soups are also good for the winter, but may require a trip to an asian market depending on your recipe. turkey soup or chicken soup are good options, just think about what you'd want to eat on a cold winter day.
wedding soup with those little meatballs and the stuff that looks like sea weed, my grandmother makes it like once a week, i am then forced to go over her house and eat atleast half of it. Its damn good.
Potato soup is win. I would say potato cheese soup.... that shit's amazing. Possibly with garlic, or onions, or leeks.... or some combination of those and/or other epicness. OR this.... Or toss a few cubes in the potato soup, mushrooms go with anything
