Why do so many people say that? I was wondering why people use 'God' and 'Jesus' in their expletitives. Is it just a western thing or do people do the same from other cultures? Are there any athiests who have unlearnt the habit of saying "Oh God" or "Oh Jesus" when faced with a crisis? Are there Christians who find themselves saying it and then giving themselves a hard time for doing so in case they are blaspheming?
Well on xbox live, when i had dsl this dude was kind of funny in one of the cs matches. Whenever something bad happened, hed be like FUCKING JESUS!! GOD DAMMIT!! Oh god! or something like that, and id ask why he says that so much. He said that hes an atheist, he doesnt say anything like that. it was kind of funny and a bit ironic, acknowledging a god.
I still say Jesus from time to time, but have tended to replace 'oh my God', with 'oh my goodness gracious'
shit i told the story wrong, what i meant to say was after he said those comments, id ask him why hed say it so much instead of like oh gosh and then the answer was his
'how great is man's gift for hypocrisy' i suppose and they say mon dieu in french..but that's western isn't it..:& hmmm
Not being funny but i think its a western thing, u don't get islamics saying: "oh allah!"... Oh nuts now i am gonna have to go into hiding from the ayatollah...:$
Do the zappa way. A cry of "JEAZIS!" (Pronouced JAY-SIS) will put forth an exclamation of surprise or astonishment with just a hint of contempt for the lord. Do it with style.
