Hey, I'm beginning to get into shape for next year's football season. However, I'm concerned about something and I don't want my effort to be wasted or not up to its potential. I've devised a workout plan for maximum hypertrophy(i think) and I was wondering how many sets and reps I should be doing, and is more weight more important than more sets. Once again, I'm not really looking to be cut at all, I'm looking to be as diesel as I can possibly be by August of next year. I will post my workout plan if someone that sounds like they know what they are talking about replys.

More reps = more cut. Less reps + more weight = more gain
Deadlift, squats, and benching are biggest gainers too

More reps does not mean more cut my friend, though alot of people believe it. You get "cut" from haveing low body fat. You could do thousands of crunches a day but you woulndt have abs if ur stomach was covered with fat. That being said lower reps with higher wieghts is ofter faster at achieving muscle mass. However if you cannot lift with good form, you're most likely useing too much wieght and could seriously hurt yourself. Then you wont be able to play football at all. Mix it up a bit, what works for me might not work for you.
