You know, someone recently said online we need to bring back all those old victory gardens. And the milk man and the corner ma and pa stores. I don't know about victory gardens. There is no war. But gardens are always good. And old fashioned grocery stores and milk men would help where I live, Detroit. Because Detroit has become a large food desert, where if you don't have a car, you don't eat. Or in any event in Detoit, if you don't want to walk 10 miles to the nearest suburb to get your dinner that night, you get what the local liquor store or gas station has. Which is typically very old and disgusting, I've noticed.
I just thought of something. Don't plant urban gardens. Fruit and vegetables get dirty. Even when they don't use natural fertilizer. But prepackaged food is always safe. As long as it doesn't require refridgeration. Why not have bins outside for the homeless they can access 24-hours a day? With lids so they don't attract rats and insects. And, merchants can have bins in their stores with signs "For Free - If You're Homeless" on them. Hmmm.
