Is it perhaps a little strange that fluoride is added to the water we drink, as opposed to being available in optional supplements? Humans are naturally vitamin C deficient, yet nobody is forcing us to take Vitamin C. Discuss
LOL, indeed. And yet they say that the fluoride available in toothpaste is not enough. I have not used fluoride for 4 years and my teeth are fine. Whenever I drink tap water or use fluoridated toothpaste I feel like vomiting. I don't really buy into the idea that it causes brain damage, but I don't think its good for everyone.
it strengthens your teeth by very slightly damaging them if you only have fluoridated water you are actually destroying your teeth, look at the chemistry, talk to some dentists (not all of them agree, but, some with critical thinking skills do) and I'm not going to drink any more than I have to, I'm not sure about brain damage, but I know some things about chemistry that lead me to be wary of it.
Our water isn't fluoridated, but rotten teeth can cause many health problem including death. So I guess it is to help people who can't afford the dentist?
There is no valid reason to put flouride in water. If someone wants flouride, its in most toothpastes right.I think flouride in water started around 20+ years ago.If anything it is bad for teeth and who knows what else. Some countries have already stopped adding it to water,so that alone is enough reason to know flouride is junk.
A lot of the more recent studies say that topically applied fluoride can benefit the teeth but consuming it doesn't help. Might even hurt. The space between the "effective yet safe" dosage and the toxic dosage is just too small for my comfort. People who can't afford the dentist or a $2 tube of toothpaste might prefer to not pay for fluoride to be added to their water, either. It's illegal to add it in some European countries and Quebec, and their tooth decay rates are similar to fluoridated areas. Besides which, about half of the fluoride you consume stays in your bones... I really distrust the stuff
General Jack D. Ripper- "Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?"
fluoride is in the water i drink and in the toothpaste ive used all my life. after hearing about "flurosis" on world news tonight, i now brush with two different toothpastes. One is a crest paste with fluoride, and the other is TOM's or whatever w/o.... due to this flurosis epedemic (for lack of a better word, because i doubt it's to that staget yet) many states are having to reduce fluoride levels to meet regulations...wow in other news i've read but i can't think of where (maybe The Spirit Molecule) that fluoride fucks with the third eye...another reason I try to keep my distance somewhat...
20 years plus would be right - Fluoridation became the official policy of the US Health Dept. in 1951 and by 1960 more than 50 million Americans were consuming fluoride in their water supply. In 1960 50 million people was a LOT of people. In 2006 more than 69% of Americans were drinking fluoridated water. So we're looking at about 60 years of experience. Current evidence suggest that fluoride reduces childhood cavities an average of 14% with a range of up to 40%. I really think that this is an argument of of the '50's and people are :beatdeadhorse5:
Fluoride is an industrial bi-product. http://ekoscommunications.com/node/125 http://www.greaterthings.com/Lexicon/F/Fluoride.htm
Fluoride is naturally occurring, in fact if you live anywhere in the blue areas here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Groundwater-fluoride-world.svg Your groundwater naturally has more flouride in it than municipal agencies put into their water. This is in fact where the idea came from when it was noticed people with fluoriated water had much lower levels of cavities and tooth decay. Water fluoridation costs like 80 cents a year per person and I'm not willing to give it up because of paranoid people on the internet. The irony the people who would stand to lose the most from it, i.e. the poorest people who don't have access to professional dentists, or the choice to buy bottled water never complain about water fluoridation. Milk probably doesn't need vitamin D in it anymore either given the prevalence of dietary supplements and greater range of food we now eat, but it's a pretty good program for a dollar a year. Maybe it's a sign of the times when our apparent tooth health concern is now that they're too white from fluoride stains. We could do it through salt like a lot of European countries do, but it seems pretty asinine to take down a whole system that has worked well for 50 years rather than just tweaking the levels of fluoride to reflect the fact a lot of people also use fluride toothpaste now.
One could go through life worrying about every microscopic thing that is out to get them. That doesn't sound very appealing to me.
:lol since this is in the public we are all supposed to disagree, right? if it was in the private, i'd say look at me other posts. bingo! Yes it does. Find out where fluoride builds up in the brain. Fluoride is a by-product of aluminium manufacturing under the umbrella ALCOA corporation. The officers of ALCOA were backed during WW2 by the bankers, to increase aluminium production for the war effort funded on all sides, america, russia, and europe, by the same banking cartel. Afterwards, there was a lot of fluoride in the form of hydrofluorosilicic acid left-over. This is CONTAMINATED, so even if you are one of these gullible types all hoo-ra for fluoride, hydrofluorosilicic acid from aluminum-processing is something like mine tailings (mine run-off): it contains all sorts of toxic heavy metals. This further complicates the health conditions. It is reportedly used by about 70% of municipal water fluoridation-(contamination) projects. During Stalin's time ('djukashvilli'), sodium fluoride was used successfully to reduce the number of gulag guards to about 1/4, it has been reported. As the same cabal backing stalin backed the united states governments, and there is a long history of information exchange through their back-channel intelligence operations, it's impossible that the bankers in charge, did not know sodium fluoride, classed only as 'Rat Poison', and still sold today as rat poison, could be used to make people sedated. The additional medical problems are a boon for public medical establishment members that deal in death (where in the private they might deal in life). [So see, everything in the public is flipped.] Introduction of fluorides and bromides leads to a reduction in iodine availability, and creates, along with stress, heart disease, diabetes, hypo and hyper-thyroid conditions, unregulated hormones (bitchy man syndrome, unusual restlessness), low energy, low fertility, psychiatric conditions, depression, paranoia; do I need to go on? And in some psychiatric medications, sodium fluoride is up to 50% of the content. Clearly, you did not get enough. Whereas 'Jack D. Ripper' and the authors of 'How I learned to love the bomb' are concerned: A classic way of dissuading the public (the cattle) that there is no problem, is to make fun of it. When Karl Marx (Mordecai)'s ideas were being promoted, the Warners and Goldwyn and Meiers of Hollywood were promoting the Marx Brothers. 'Look at the birdie!' keeping people distracted. "Marx a trio of jokers!" People didn't have the internet.. It was a game of name-association. Like 'Kissinger' (reportedly named after the kissing mountains, and therefore *not* german) said, 'a bunch of useless eaters'. He's a right-hand man to the bankers; he's telling you exactly how they feel about the general public. So, some will continue to laugh, right unto the grave. Others, wear badges of illness on their chest, no different than a soldier, wears a medal on his. 'Militarized thinking': a democracy is a military style of government in the public, promoting a war mentality. HOWEVER: ANYONE who is less polluted, such as non-americans, and people not on england, wales, scottland or ireland, seriously wonder what the hell is wrong with you people? There's no coincidence that there is no-one at home, little kindness in operations, and people are inflating like blimps on these territories. Once the body has maxed-out absorption of halides, it has to pack on fat cells to have somewhere to put them. That means the brain, and the other organs, have a FULL DOSE. If your teeth, have fluoridosis, and they weakened, mottled, full of fluoride; what about your skeleton? What about how teeth have nerves? The nervous system?
Jesus christ you people are paranoid. 1. Fluoride is naturally occurring. Some forms of fluoride used are used in aluminum production, but guess what, so is water, and air, oh god the water is naturally poisonous! 2. Unless you have no skin and also brush toothpaste onto your bones regularly your bones are fine. Again, numerous places in the world have fluoride naturally occurring in groundwater at higher concentrations than what is used in municipal water to begin with. Now take off your foil hats. Fluoridation does not affect the appearance, taste, or smell of drinking water.[1] It is normally accomplished by adding one of three compounds to the water: sodium fluoride, fluorosilicic acid, or sodium fluorosilicate. Sodium fluoride (NaF) was the first compound used and is the reference standard.[31] It is a white, odorless powder or crystal; the crystalline form is preferred if manual handling is used, as it minimizes dust.[32] It is more expensive than the other compounds, but is easily handled and is usually used by smaller utility companies.[33] Fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) is an inexpensive liquid by-product of phosphate fertilizer manufacture.[31] It comes in varying strengths, typically 23–25%; because it contains so much water, shipping can be expensive.[32] It is also known as hexafluorosilicic, hexafluosilicic, hydrofluosilicic, and silicofluoric acid.[31] Sodium fluorosilicate (Na2SiF6) is a powder or very fine crystal that is easier to ship than fluorosilicic acid. It is also known as sodium silicofluoride.[32] These compounds were chosen for their solubility, safety, availability, and low cost.[31] A 1992 census found that, for U.S. public water supply systems reporting the type of compound used, 63% of the population received water fluoridated with fluorosilicic acid, 28% with sodium fluorosilicate, and 9% with sodium fluoride.[34] The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed recommendations for water fluoridation that specify requirements for personnel, reporting, training, inspection, monitoring, surveillance, and actions in case of overfeed, along with technical requirements for each major compound used.[35] The U.S. specifies the optimal level of fluoride to range from 0.7 to 1.2 mg/L (milligrams per liter, equivalent to parts per million), depending on the average maximum daily air temperature; the optimal level is lower in warmer climates, where people drink more water, and is higher in cooler climates.[36] The U.S. standard, adopted in 1962, is not appropriate for all parts of the world and is based on assumptions that have become obsolete with the rise of air conditioning and increased use of soft drinks, processed food, and other sources of fluorides. In 1994 a World Health Organization expert committee on fluoride use stated that 1.0 mg/L should be an absolute upper bound, even in cold climates, and that 0.5 mg/L may be an appropriate lower limit.[6] A 2007 Australian systematic review recommended a range from 0.6 to 1.1 mg/L.[10] Fluoride in naturally occurring water can be above, at, or below recommended levels. Rivers and lakes generally contain fluoride levels less than 0.5 mg/L, but groundwater, particularly in volcanic or mountainous areas, can contain as much as 50 mg/L.[12] Higher concentrations of fluorine are found in alkaline volcanic, hydrothermal, sedimentary, and other rocks derived from highly evolved magmas and hydrothermal solutions, and this fluorine dissolves into nearby water as fluoride. In most drinking waters, over 95% of total fluoride is the F− ion, with the magnesium–fluoride complex (MgF+) being the next most common. Because fluoride levels in water are usually controlled by the solubility of fluorite (CaF2), high natural fluoride levels are associated with calcium-deficient, alkaline, and soft waters.[37] Defluoridation is needed when the naturally occurring fluoride level exceeds recommended limits. It can be accomplished by percolating water through granular beds of activated alumina, bone meal, bone char, or tricalcium phosphate; by coagulation with alum; or by precipitation with lime.[5]
Doesn't sound appealing to me either. I have met people who are paranoid about germs, and they are just not a lot of fun, at minimum. As one's immune system is negatively impacted from toxic halides or iodine deficiency, and one becomes more paranoid: hey that's those people you mentioned! Deal with the one point and you've largely sorted several other issues out. I never bring up issues without there being relief, mentioned in other posts. http://tiny.cc/kickitsass It's better, that the fluoride and bromide wasn't there to begin with; on india they spend a lot of energy to remove it from the water, otherwise their teeth look exactly like american, english and I forgot, australian, teeth. :lol The relief is simple, as you can see from the post, and does not come through the licensed M.D.. So it's up to you, to act privately, in your unlicensed, natural capacity, to get the ingredients, assemble thus, and be your own physician.:2thumbsup:
