    Flowers (The War On Iraq)

    I want to plant a flower
    in an old coffee can.
    I want to watch it grow.
    I want
    to see its green leaves
    s t r e t c h upwards
    towards the sun.
    And when it's big enough
    to absorb the night,
    and let the days
    s t r e t c h upwards
    towards forever,
    I want to have George doubleya quote me.
    "I won't blame the flower;
    I'll blame the seed."
