Daniel Keyes Wrote an amazing classic, called Flowers For Algernon. This book follows a guy named Charlie Gordon which had a low IQ and with an first time experimental surgery, the only other one who has gone through the process is a lab rat named Algernon. Charlie was able to become remarkably smart. This book follows Charlie through an amazing experience of comming out of the darkness and into the light, but in the end it all falls apart as the effect of the surgery starts to wear off. If you have any interest in the human mind or pschology i highly recommend this book.

I remember enjoying the book a lot better than the movie, but that's about all I remember.

read it in 8th grade english, am currently reading the elongated novel version right now as a TA in an english class

saw the movie in 8th grade, only thing i remember is that he had this really stupid "Trip out scene" that had nothing to do with the story at all, he was driving a moped and crashed into a lake and was dressed as a biker, started smoking and trashing shit, along with a bunch of guitars going crazy in the background...I'll probably get to see it again
