*I realize I just posted this in the "Free love" section, but for some reason I didn't see this section. So, my apologies for a double post.*

I realize this may be the wrong forum for this topic, but I looked for a minute and couldn't find a better one....

I have always been shy, especially when it comes to showing interest in guys. Even when I guy shows interest in me, I sort of give a nervous laugh and freeze up. This summer I was interested in a guy (and kind of got the idea he might be into me as well) and got a little advice from friends on ways to subtly flirt. I suppose it worked, but it literally took the whole summer. The guy and I ended up hooking up and that was because he was on the drunk side and very blunt. He told me that he had been flirting the whole summer, but I seemed for the most part pretty cool towards him, not giving him much of the idea that I liked him too.

What are some "techniques" people use to show interest? Or just basic body language things that signal to the other person you are interested. I think I have a pretty bad fear of rejection (like most people) but I've never really put myself out there to be rejected. I'm 21 years old now and I figure that if I'm going to live the fun young adult lifestyle, I'm going to have to loosen up a bit when I go out and not shut myself out to guys I don't already know well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

By the way, it was just a hookup situation with the summer guy...it was fun but nothing more (and I'm completely fine with that lol), but now I'm kind of interested in a couple different guys who I don't see usually but once a week and would be more interested in the long term with, and the other who I see about that often as well but I'm just physically attracted to (if you get my gist). Thanks :)
