As for which type to get, well, that dependss entirely on the individual. Personally I have several insert sleeves - my favourite being the Ultra Tight Ribbed one.

I used to find that the standard ones had a tendency to split, due to a generous girth, but the tighter ones use more material, making the sleeve itself thicker, thus stronger.

The silicone sleeve is extremely flexible, so don't be misled by the dimensions given. If I can slip into the Ultra Tight ones, I think most can.
