I have been hearing stories about ex "acid-heads" that get flashbacks.... one of the stories i heard was that some guy was driving home and he had one.. he crashed his car and died....im just wondering how common are they and under what circumstances to they occur

if the dude died how did they know he crashed the car from an acid flashback. did he have a surviving passenger hear him say "i'm having an acid flashback" before crashing the car? i dunno...sounds a bit reefer madness to me but then again i've never had a flashback...i wish i did though!!!!

i always have flashbacks, its not like you just sober then all of sudden your tripping randomly. its more like a state of mind where the memory of something i saw on acid makes me take a second look at what im actually looking at, the memory of seeing some of the shapes and distortions of objects i look at everyday in my house. i only get flashbacks because i smoke alot of pot though, if i dont smoke any weed at all i never get them, but when im stoned they actually make being stoned better if you look at it positivly instead of with negativity

that story sounds like exaggerated BS.

but a flash back is more a trigger. you know how you get dream triggers, and then you go back to that state of mind, reminiscing?? thats your brain going to theta wave mode. acid is similar. of course im not speaking from experience though.

If I read a lot of books and study them thoroughly to build up my vocabulary, when I hear strange or rarely used words uttered by others even though Im not reading, Im going to grasp them. If I watch a moive and later overhear a conversation going down about the film I saw, Im going to have mental pictures recalling the film and may even have emotions or thoughts that are associated with the recollection of it. If I learn how to drive a manual vehicle and lose my liscence for a few years, when I sit back down againg to drive, Im going to recall how to set the gear box in motion and be able to drive. Anything a person does in this life that makes an impact, either positive or negative to the mind, is going to have the potential to be stored in the memory and serve its useful purpose when recalled to aid in the understanding of life processes. LSD will not just make you all of a sudden start tripping face out of nowhere if there is no LSD in your body being metabolised. This is a myth, a lie, propoganda started to scare off fragile minds from exploring the depths of consciousness. True, your resonse and reception of visual and audio stimuli as well as natural thought process will be forever altered with LSD use, but this doesnt have to be labeld as brain damage or as a flashback. In my opinion, it opens you up to being more receptive of reality's more subtle vibrational frequencies and allows deeper insight into the mechanics of Nature.

People often experience effects similar to LSD after tripping, usually when very high on weed. It's really not a big deal. Just don't fear LSD and don't have a horrible trip and you will be fine.

Yea Allen, I've noticed that the majority of people who claim to have flashbacks, have had them after smoking potent herbs. I've had that happen when I was a teenager as well, smoking a bong hit and next thing you know the night sky turns into a fireworks display of shooting stars and neon color webs gripping the skyline. But last time I checked, that was beautiful, not scary! :D Besides I have always been of the opinion that THC causes mild psychedelic effects so it seems only natural to me that once one tries a strong pscyhedelic, the effects are very memorable and easier to attain through softer drugs.
