A few years back i stretched one ear, went to quickly and got a blowout. Ive taken the plug out since then and its at about 3-5mm. The blowout is still there and im thinking of stretching up to about 12 again (properly). Just wondering if anyone knew if you can get rid of a blowout and how?

yeah, basically you can have it scalpelled off by an experienced professional.
some people have had success tying it off till it atrophies... but i think this has a high rate of failure too.
i have dual blowouts and have just come to accept them. downsizing helped a lot and made them look much smaller.
i havnt tried to stretch up again. if you do, at least put the plug in through the back rather than the front.

Downsizing and some serious oil massages can help

id find a piercer who can show you references of blow outs they have cut off

i would not try tying it off, you have a high risk of doing enough damage to lose part of your lobe...plus, while its dying, it stinks....BAD

i could cut it off for you if you were close by LOL
though i am out of practice by a couple years...ive done quite a few

just make sure you get references, or, go to a real doctor...theyll likely do it for you...dunno how much that would cost though

what would happen if you just cut it off yourself? what are worst realisticly possible scenarios? cause thats what I would do if it ever happens to me

When you insert the jewelry in the opposite way that it blew out, it folds the skin back inside your ear.

Also, I would recommend oil massages with either emu oil or jojoba oil.
This will soften up the scar tissue and if you take the jewelry out of your ears, the blowout may heal back up over several months time.
This is what I did, and now I'm at 9/16th's with perfectly healthy ears.

The oils I mentioned can be found at www.bodyartforms.com for cheap

Should i take my ear back up to 12mm putting the tapers in backwards.. and then do the oil massages? Or do the oil massages first and then stretch?
    Thanks again

Well in reality, you shouldn't be wearing anything in your ears until they've healed, but if you insist, wear a small plug.
Downsize at least two or three sizes from the size you were at when you tore, then do oil massages every day and stretch back up slowly.

fuckkk you're taking action late!

no worries though, you can repair it. Just put in a smaller size so it has room for the skin to heal back up and do what I said.

Alright so.. I had been at 3/4" for almost a year and finally decided to stretch to an 1". I thought everything had gone well until the next morning when my ears were in the worst pain and extremely swollen. I took them out for a week, put my 3/4" back in until they healed. -_-

I had two blow outs. One that went away after downsizing and one HUGE one that stayed. I stretched back up to 1" no problem afterward but still had a blow out on my left ear. I thought I was screwed but I watched a few youtube vids and started taping my blow out back with masking tape for a few hours every night, down sized to 3/4", cleaned it with sea salt& water, and have been putting my plug in backwards w/ some jojoba oil. It's been just over a week and its gone already.

I had this blow out for at least a month and a half and there is literally no sign of it. I'm going to wait awhile before stretching it again but there is a way to fix blow outs!
