It is good to know you get that feeling during pushups. I had to do several sets of push ups at the end of the class today, so that is probably what made me feel so queasy. Your bootcamp sounds fun. I know you've mentioned this before, but is your bootcamp held outside, or in big room, or? I LOVE it when my trainer adds a sprint station to our bootcamp circuit. I love doing sprints. In my bootcamp class, I am always the girl with WAY too much enthusiasm. My husband, when he is able to come with me, gets a kick out of it.
We're inside and outside. It changes every time. I have to say....I'm definitely the alpha-male in our group and our group (and trainers) play off of that. I never asked for that role but you just show up and do what you do.
yeah, i only get pukey if i workout after eating too much. i've never actually puked from exercise, but it sometimes feels like i could if i workout on a full stomach.
Feeling like you need to vomit means you're over-exerting yourself. While it's always good to push yourself to new limits, it shouldn't be to the point you feel like you're going to throw up. People think they need to run themselves into the ground to see results, and that just isn't the case.
I've never worked out on a full stomach. That just seems wrong to me, and like it would be horribly uncomfortable. I've never puked from exercise either, I've just felt like was about to on occasion. It's never been as bad as it was today, though.
it is. i try very hard to avoid it, but there's only so many hours in a day, so sometimes you have to squeeze the workout in at times that aren't ideal. generally these days, i work out about 2 hours after lunch when i do manage to get a workout in. if there is a food related issue, more often than not it's because i ate too much for lunch and am still a little bloated even that long after.
I'd prefer to have a snack, workout, and then have a big meal afterwords. Could you not work out in the morning instead? Or do you usually start work early?
i guess i theoretically could work out in the morning. i don't usually go to work until around 10, so it's not like i'm up at the crack of dawn to go in there. but, i'm regularly at work until anywhere between 6 and 9 at night, and i like to wind down for a few hours after work, so by the time i get to bed i basically need to sleep until 9ish just to get the amount of sleep my body needs. i'd hate to give up sleep to workout. it's like trading one staple of healthy living for another. plus, afternoons just work well for me. it's when i usually have the most energy, it's when the gym is the least crowded, and it's the time during my work day that i'm most likely to be able to get away without being called back to work for one thing or another. and i'm already at work for 55 hours or so most weeks, so if i can work my workout into those hours without cutting into my free time, i would like to do that.
Yeah, I get what you mean. I don't think I'd give up sleep to workout, either. When I worked in an office full time, I would get up at 5:45am to train from 6:15 - 7:15, twice a week. I did what I had to do at that time, but I definitely wouldn't find that workout time ideal now. Are you mainly lifting, or doing a mix of cardio as well?
I should say...the couple of times I felt like I could puke was more because I had just ate and was kind of upside down....as opposed to just from working out.
Bump... Lost 20 LBS since April. So... it took me about 2 months. I'm currently going for another 20 LBS. I started out at 220, and I'm currently about 197.5. I'm going for 180.
I always exercise on empty tummy and then eat within a reasonable time of when I finished. Now I do this because I believe that, while I'm no exercising anymore, my body is still burning off the calories. So if I can come home and shower and then eat something, then my body is still burning more calories still recovering from workout. So it's like free food.
Spin Spin. My water bottle fell off my bike about 5 minutes in, and I thought that would be an issue because there was no way I was going to get off my bike to retrieve it, but surprisingly, it wasn't a problem for me to get through the class without it.
This thread kind of intimidates me in the same way as going to the gym lol. I usually stay fit by doing fun stuff, never really cared for formal exercise Buut I really want a super nice ass and a toned back and tummy this summer, so tonight I did some squats, stomach crunches, and some various exercises with 8 lb weights.I've been doing squats for a while but haven't seen much of a difference, hopefully doing them with weights will help
