Thanks Irm, I will definitely give that a try tonight when I get home from the concert... I'm willing to try anything at this point, as it doesn't seem to be getting better.
Full body weights tonight after 16+ hours fasted. In fact I just finished up within the last hour, came home, made a protein shake, and now I am waiting to grill up a couple steaks.
So I know now something in my hip was definitely jolted out of place, because I got home from the concert last night and realized the pain is completely gone. I've done a few squats this morning to check it as well, and there is no pain anymore. I am happy. I guess rocking out and jumping up and down for two hour and forty five minutes relocated whatever had been out of place. Oh, and based on the nature of the injury and some specific "acrobatics" that went down in my bedroom upon my return home last night, I think the original injury occurred during sex, NOT at the gym like I originally thought.
My wife and I spent the afternoon kayaking around a mangrove forest. It's pretty cool - the streams are super narrow and it had a huge deliverance vibe. They have millions of these black-shelled crabs that eat the fallen leaves. Then I went and played ice hockey for two hours. We've got our first exhibition game tomorrow night.
Brings me back to the old times still living in my parents. I'd hide under the covers of my bed with a lamp reading dirty erotic stories and letters to editors. Worked up quite a sweat under than blanket with that light, literally soaking sometimes.
I spent almost two and a half hours at the gym tonight, and not by choice. I have been cutting, so I am keeping my lifts heavy with longer rest times in between. The rest time accounted for most of the time I spent at the gym, but I did all the big compound lifts, and some accessory stuff as well, so I covered a lot of ground despite not having one of my better workouts. My bench press was a bit weak tonight, and I wasn't able to pull off the number of reps I wanted to, so I increased the number of sets instead. I have been averaging about 1,500 calories per day this week (with slightly more on training days), which is quite low, and this is likely what is causing my performance to suffer a bit. Tonight will start a 36 hour period of hedonistic eating where I will replenish my glycogen stores (and strength), and hopefully Monday will go a lot better at the gym.
I don't do very well at the gym unless I have music or a movie to watch on my iPod. I need to multi-task and occupy my mind with entertainment in order to work harder at the gym. I'm thinking about hiking to the top of Mt. St. Helens later this week before the winter snows cover the whole mountain. I've attempted that mountain 2 and 3 summers ago, but I always ran out of time and had to run back down the mountain before sundown. Last time, I made it 4/5 of the way up until I had to turn around and climb down as fast as I could. I forgot to bring a flashlight, and had to hike a mile through the woods at night all the way back to my car. It was spooky.
I prefer working out at home since I can listen to the music I like instead of the crap they blast at the gym.
Weight room, full body. Added 10 pounds to my bench press, 10 pounds to my barbell squats, and did two sets of walking lunges with 20 pound weights as opposed to my usual 10 pound weights.
havent been going to the gym much lately. My joints have been really sore lately for whatever reason. knees, wrist, and the top of my feet. I read my knees and feet could be sore due to tight calf muscles, which mine are REALLY tight.
Yes, although ill do it for like 2 minutes then get bored with it. I bought a lacrosse ball today to use on them and WOW it hurts so good. idk how long it should take to see results but im going to do both the lacrosse ball and foam roller every day for the next week or two.
