hey everyone. i'm 24. i have taken mushrooms a few times but never acid. i'm interested in taking a psychedelic drug in a guided, spiritual setting. i don't really want to do it alone, and i don't really have any good friends who i could do it with. i feel kind of stuck in life, and i am really interested in having a spiritual experience, and tripping with an experienced guide.

my question is how the hell can i go about finding someone like this? i live in san diego, and i could get to san francisco if necessary. i know san francisco sounds like kind of a no-brainer for this kind of thing, but i don't just want to walk into the park and buy something and do it.

i'm looking for a shaman, a experienced spiritual guide, etc.

any advice on where i could look on the internet or IRL to find this would be very appreciated...or subtle 'signs' or hints i should know that will help me when looking would also be appreciated.

    thanks!

I think you should do it alone and realize that you don't need a guide to have a spiritual experience. In fact you will have a much more authentic and viscerally spiritual experience if you do it solo. It is much less scary/intense than mushrooms.

I live in the bay area and just recently moved from San Diego, I have not come across any shamans, I am experienced with psychedelics myself but not terribly spiritually oriented, I have been a sitter for people before though on various psychedelics.

LSD and mushrooms can be equally intense/scary. Nature is a great setting for LSD if you are very familiar with your surroundings and don't think you'll get lost. I probably wouldn't recommend camping alone but maybe a nice nature walk would be good and then a comfortable home to return to.

if you don't have a close friend or loved one to trip with, i'd echo writer and suggest you do it alone. you don't need some spiritual shaman who is a stranger with you on your trip. i'd guess that would feel a little awkward.

Well, what sorts of mushroom doses have you done? Have you had a full blown experience where you can't really move and are just bombarded with euphoria, visuals, and ego-death? If yes, then that sort of level is VERY hard to reach with LSD, you need a high dose. Lucy is much more 'functional'.

I would suggest an isolated, safe spot in nature, without real possibility of bumping into public.

Based on my recent shroom trip, I have to agree. Shrooms are crazy shit, you are constantly in a tug of war with the substance, in a battle. On shrooms you have to work so hard to remain positive, but just like your body will likely do, your will to remain positive might just lay down and take it.
Lucy is a bunch more forgiving, much easier to keep a positive attitude and motor skills aren't so intensely altered. Also you can know your does way easier, maybe not in ug but you know how a tab will do ya.

cool. its something i really want to do. i have had terrible experiences with mushrooms a couple times, mostly because i was really young and had no idea what i was doing, but the last couple times have been great. i definitely haven't taken a large enough dose to reach an 'ego death' level...thats kind of what i want though.

ill be in san francisco in the next couple months and think that would be a great place to do it. can you recommend any cool nature-ish/away from people/safe places?

i haven't taken large enough mushroom doses to have an experience like that.

and doing it alone is something that could work for me...its just kind of a scary thought, having no experience with it, nor any idea of what to expect. somewhere i can kind of be in nature, not be around people, feel comfortable with my surroundings, and not worry about getting lost would be ideal, i can't really think of anywhere like that though

doing LSD for your first time COMPLETELY in nature might not be the best idea. i'd prefer to have a "safe zone" that you can return to if you start feeling uncomfortable outside/in public.

lots of "rules" i know, but there's a reason for all of them

Sorry I meant the mushrooms in nature (mixed them up in my head). I wouldn't do LSD your first time completely outdoors, you definitely want to be able to crash somewhere very safe as pork said. The best place is a friends house! That's where I've had all my best experiences :D When you get to the know the molecule and yourself on the molecule then you can see if you can handle being outdoors for the full ~8 hours of meaty experience. It's a long time to be stuck outside if things start going south :)

Friends houses are the best, lol. For many reasons.
Haha, you know how when you see your body in the mirror tripping you might get a bit self-conscious? I get self conscious about my living space when tripping, lol.
