Hi all, Myself and two friends will be comming in on the 5th of jan. I was hoping to get some good advice about what smoke shops we should see, what areas are safe and some must see places..Can't wait to get there! Thanks
La Canna, Bulldog's, Grasshopper, Smokey's are all places to avoid. Upon exiting Centraal Station, go left in front of the little white building (VVV) and slowly veer to the right. You will see Central Coffeeshop about 100 meters in front of you. Go there and buy some good weed. Walk back to the Damrak and head in the opposite direction of the station. Keep looking right down the little alley size streets and you will spot DeKuil AKA the 420 Cafe. Have a beer with your joint. That should keep you busy for the first hour of your trip, lol... Enjoy your stay and set a good example. SP
Dampkring coffeeshop is worth a peek. First time to Amsterdam, oh how I envy you, first time is always great.
coffeeshops to vist for hash: the noon - blueberry isolater hash dampkring - moonshine hash greenhouse - super blond palm, king hassan palm dolphins - royal dolphin hash chocolata - choco skuff (made from chocolate tasting choco mist herb) bushdoctor - isolater hash (sometimes they have pure haze isolater bluebird - too many good kinds to name and keep current on. but there nepalese was ALWAYS good dread rock - see if they have ak47 isolater hash sheeba - caramelo cream hash old church - royal cream hash ALSO NOTE: Coffeeshop Chocolata makes Hash Hot Chocolate which is an absolute must if you will be in Amsterdam during cold weather!
the noon has great blueberry and blueberry isolater hash bushdoctor specializes in haze and haze crosses (get the black domina x haze) bluebird has excellent blond and black hash...also has jamaican red hair skunk that is top quality at bargain prices. BE SURE to try warlock AND sage de dampkring: i recommend hash and kali mist from here Homegrown Fantasy: nice people...nice shop....cool bathroom with blacklights (yes urine will glow!) Coffeeshop Anyday: lots of locals, one of the first shops to support vaporizing Barneys: try the silverblue weed and the barneys rubble hash La Canna: very touristy...best purple haze i've ever had though...100 percent purple color with pure pine haze taste Grey Area: excellent smoke...grey mist crystals are killer (kif) ak47 is excellent, grey mist, bubblegum while your at the bushdoctor.....greenhouse namaste is close by. Its much more cozy and empty than the other 2 greenhouse coffeeshops. Not the best place, but worth a stop if your in the area and have EXTRA TIME. If your on a tight schedule, i really recommend THE NOON while you are near the bushdoctor. THE NOON is so quaint.....located on a quiet block with a canal, has great big glasses of hot tea, simply is THE place for anything involving blueberry. If pressed for time, La Canna should be the first place on my list to eliminate.
Now these are the type of threads I live for on our beloved HIP Forums. Dead-On advice thus far, although I would like to add that Central CS has the most incredible "arrival" vibe of any of the other places due to their proximity to Centraal Station, as SinPusher has advised. Make this your "1st" stop indeed. Gotta love The Box at Central CS. Have a great trip, and bring back tales to tell! Seriously good times are ahead mi amigo.
I recommend avoiding most Central Station coffeeshops,they seem more suited at ripping off impaitient tourist. My recommendations 1.De Dampkring, always a fine selection, i personally liked thier Ak-47,Nyc Diesal, although its always real full,mornings seem to be best times, wake and bake at the most slowest time also their wee tiny matchboxs they give out make nice bring home souveniers. Look out for the stoner cat who lives in the shop 2. The Grey Area, small shop quality weed, Sharks Breath,yellow cab, La Confidental,Bubblegum and my recent favorite Recon (i imagine its called recon since its a pleasant creeper), the shop is small and cozy but with a little paitience chairs and tables usually open up, there youll meet lots of Americans who come there since one of the chiefs is an American himself. 3. Barneys- Nice amount of space,courteous staff, i recommend cannabis cup winning strain willie nelson, Hash caramella cream and barney rubble are real nice too. 4.Chocolata has a nice variety of space cakes and bonbons.
Grasshopper, La Canna and others yes. IMO, Central CS should not be included in the list of places to avoid. How can you get ripped of when your faced with the baggie of your choosing straight from the beloved box menu?
all of the coffeeshops in the previous posts are great.......... here are a few of my fav.s......... the abraxas on jonge roelensteeg - i actualy smelled this shop before i seen it i got some nice k-2 bud and a hash hot coco. i dident much like the coco.....to me it was to bitter and just tasted kinda nasty but that just me.... some people like it/i dont.......... i did have a hash milkshake that i enjoyed very much......... the amnesia on herengracht- i liked the amnesia haze. also i was really liking the brain ticket hash..... it was good stuff....... another good place for hash is tweede kamer on heisteeg- i was blown away by the 25 euro a gram dutch moonshine....... all i can say is......WOW....... that stuff was awsome....... the old church on oude kerksplein- this is a great shop for "people watching" i liked the super silver haze i got there..... i just sat up-staires by the window and puffed on a fat cone and watched the people go by.....ahhhh good times a place to avoid is smokey on the rembrandtplein- the choise of smokables was just "ok"........ the staff was kinda rude.... i wasent gettin' any good vibes from this place at all..... so i hurred up and finished my smoke and left.... another cool shop was umma gumma on haarlemmerstraat-if i remember correctly all i got there was some kinda of haze and a house bag.... and also some kind of hash..... i dont recall exactly what it was.....but i do remember smoking a fat cone of the haze/hash mix and doing bong hitz with a group of people from england...... i meet some cool people that day...... have fun dude.... my first trip was awsome.... im sure yours will be to....... peace...........................
Reading these posts just makes me so excited to go a second time and try out new things there! I may just decide to pack my bags and go for a week for some adventure. I recommend the Grey Area as well. The guy who works there seems like a down to earth American who knows his stuff. In the Red Light District, right next to some seductive girls, there is a smartshop selling shrooms to complement your trip. Try out some Dutch restaurants as well, and make sure you visit Vondelpark for a stroll.
