My first experience was a variation of Doggy Style (with me on the edge of the bed & him standing on the floor), and it hurt!! To be honest, I imagine the main reason for this was that I think he was paying more attention to his own satisfaction than my comfort. However, on latter occasions, I have learned though experience that Doggy Style is far from the best approach - especially for first timers, as it can be awkward (especially if well lubed, in the way it should be), as the penis is prone to slipping whenever pressure is applied trying to position, in readiness for the initial penetration. Personally, I suspect that the main reason for the prominence of the Doggy Position is from the number of Porn videos that use it, as this allows better visibility for the camera. I've found the best position all round to be the good old time honoured favourite, the Missionary Position - ideally with the recipient hooking his/her knees over the penetrator's shoulders. In this way, the anus is presented in a far easier position for penetration, as well as making it less painful for the recipient. It also lessens the possibilty of the penis accidentally falling out during thrusting / drawing. Furthermore, if the recipient is also male, the angle of entry with the Missionary Position is better suited for prostate stimulation, as well as possibly rubbing against the recipient's penis / clitoris with the pubis / belly, or simply masturbating him / her at the same time. I think that in the time since I lost my Anal Virginity I must have tried all the different positions there are, and I've yet to find one to improve on the Missionary.
