Umm well skeletons from the closet was the first one I ever heard. Obviously it's good and everything since it's all the classics but my favorite is probably anthem of the sun.

My older brother had Shakedown Street, Workingman's Dead and Skeletons From The Closet already...

So, I bought Steal Your Face, then American Beauty...

BTW, these were vinyl records, not CDs...

The first album on bought on CD was Europe '72

my first Dead was not a cd, it was a tape, Steal Your Face which was borrowed from a friend of my Mom's and I wore it out and had to buy them another one. My next choices were American Beauty and Workingman's Dead.:cheers2:

I think i had heard europe 72 on cassette or something i found in my parents shit, and then i bought skeletons.

But i really have to say, the only studio albums i really like to listen to alot are the self titled, workingmans, and american beauty. I completely prefer hearing them live. Preferably somewhere from 65-73, but ive been getting into some later stuff lately.

I'd listen to my dad's albums, but the first I sought out myself was American Beauty.
