Man, this is starting to annoy me. I couldn't get this awesome job that pays great in July because of my criminal record. Now its been three long months and I still don't even see a job coming my way... What suck even more is November 5th I'm able to get off probation if I complete all my tasks. First was community service(wiped that out asap) then got my G.E.D.(got it in four days) and all I need is a freaking job. I even went to a job fair, but there were like a hundred people and I wasn't even qualified to do most of the jobs... This sucks.

yeah im in the process of finding a job. it does suck. i hate it though when you just want to find out how much a job pays but they wont tell you over the phone so you have to go in person and listen to all the bull they say just to find out how much they will pay you. bogus.

get a pizza delivery job, i hear those are easy to get, under the table, and they dont care who you are as long as you have a car

No good, you often have to pass a background check to deliver pizzas. A lot of jobs where you go to people's houses are like that

I don't have a car, or a license, I don't even know how to drive lol. Also I don't care if its minimum wage, as long as its money and I can get off probation.

veroness just gave me a great idea.

pushit, start calling up the registered sex offenders in your area, and ask them where they work.

    Jobs are overrated anyway.
Having fun and non-commitment is what life is all about.

  10. I agree, but sadly we need to eat, you know?

I'm on the same boat, and I'm 4 years older...

Times are tough right now, especially for work.

i've said it before, don't just drop off an application and disappear. talk to the manager when you're there. or stop back every day for a week. and lie on the application where it asks about your criminal history. they won't check.

p.s. i'm talking about fast food and the like here; you're very unlikely to get hired anywhere else with no job for the past several months at least, if not ever.

    Yah it is.

Sometimes I have pounded the pavement for over a week, non stop each day.

Other times, I have been hired on the spot the first place I walked into.

No rhyme or reason it would seem.

Even when I am looking for over a week though, I usually end being hired on the spot after a long search.

So keep on looking maybe you will have the same luck, just pound the pavement with a look of determination and your potential employer will notice this character trait.

It is hard to find a job these days..
All you gotta do is talk to the manager and go back everyday!
I have had some cool and good paying jobs like that, it is also how I got my current job... which took two weeks of hounding
    Good Luck :cheers2:

exactly. i repeat: don't just drop off an application; a very very low percentage of hires are done that way. make sure the manager knows who you are right then or else your application is going on the bottom of a large stack of apps that are never to be looked at again.

well enjoy being on probation forever, at least until you finally get caught doing something stupid and go to jail. a reasonable person would suck it the fuck up and get a job where he can though.
