Finding Spores?

how would sumone who wants to grow psilocybe(sp?) shrooms, go about finding spores?

seriously, they're not at all hard to find. try almost any shroomery sponsor.

only in california and georgia

mushrooms aren't illegal specifically, it's the psilocin/psilocybin that's illegal, so any mushroom containing them is therefore illegal by default. however, the spores contain ABSOLUTELY NO TRACES of any illegal substances, and can be safely and legally ordered for "research purposes" (and there ARE legitimate mycological research uses) other than cultivation. since the mushrooms aren't specifically illegal, any part that does not contain illegal substances is legal.

you might want to look into local laws and precedents in court cases regarding this matter for where you live, but so long as you're not in cali or ga, most any vendor should gladly mail them to you and you should have NO PROBLEM in receiving them. even in the states where they are illegal, it should be a relatively simple matter to get your hands on them anyhow.

there are dozens of vendors on the net, and it shouldnt take more than half an hour to find a suitable shop.

no problem. keep in mind that not all places that claim to sell spores are legitimate. as with nearly any other mail order service you run the risk of falling victim to a fraud.

generally speaking, though, any site that is a sponsor of the shroomery is a good bet.

 

I've dealt with a bunch of em and always go back to Sporeworks.

 

sporeworks is a little overpriced, but they seem to be among the single most reputable vendor i know of, though probably not what i would choose unless i was ordering grow bags, too. good, responsible vendor though. the problem is that there is (or at least was) a scam site with a nearly identical name and an identical layout for their website...i forget the name of them, but just watch out. go with a shroomery sponsor, which i think sporeworks is. the name of the other one started with spore-, too. i forget if works is the good one or the bad one...the good one has banners at shroomery though

 

ive been thinking about growing shrooms myself and im allways alittle confused, are the "cubensis" mushrooms the ones that make you trip?

 

any psilocybian mushroom will make you trip. theres many species that will. Psilocybe cubensis is the easiest to cultivate discreetly, and the most common species consumed in the us, with the average dose being around 3.5g dry weight

 

Um...why not just make your own spore prints? Its easy and doesn't even waste the shroom. If you want instructions I can post 'em.
