I have always made clothes, jewellery and knitted and designed sweaters and cardigans. Unfortunately crochet has never worked for me no matter how many times I have tried.
Well, I have finally cracked it. I am working on wee animal things and have started on the easiest patterns in this book that I found in a thrift shop:
Cutest Crochet Creations by Alison North.
It is a style called Amigurumi which basically entails using a smaller hook than normal for the thickness of yarn. This gives a tight finish which allows the toy to be stuffed with nothing showing through the item.
So far, so good. Slow process but, yeah, I no longer feel like a crochet failure.:D
