so much final fantasy talk around here lately...i think we are all turning into nerds! great movie they are actually making a computer animated final fantasy 7 movie...dont know if its a movie version of the game or a whole other story, but it might be interesting...
Actually it's already out It's called "Advent Children" I don't have any links handy, but if you google it you'll get a bajillion. US release date is December sometime I think, though if you dig around you can find the Japanese release online and buy/download it. From what I hear it's awesome. There's also a first-perosn-shooter game coming out based on Vincent from the game... And they are going to be re-releasing FF7 for all the next-gen systems in a year or two, with all of it's graphics and sound completely redone. Screenshots so far look amazing. ...sorry, nerd rant moment

Yup I -think- there's some kinda FF7-based game coming out for the sony PSP too...not sure about much else though. PSP is the one system I'll probably never get, so I didn't research it much...
emulators I need to get a playstation eventually though so I can play ff9-10-10-2 have ya'll hunted around at the japanese ff12 page? it's not going to be an mmo thank god (that was sheer folly, bad squaresoft, bad) meanwhile I'm just not a fan of this new direction they're going with movies, I feel a little bit betrayed and tonberry's have been around gorever, at least since ff3\6\whatever you want to call it....
Well, 9 was really good. 10...well...10 would be an OK fantasy rpg, but it makes a terrible Final Fantasy. As for 10-2, well, I never played it...but it was awful, I feels it in my bones. I've read up a lot on FF12, played the demo too. It looks grpahically like 8, is styled kind of like 10, and the format is much different...no more unseen monsters randomly attacking you - now you run around in third-person view with your party visible, and you can see the monsters scattered around. More realistic as opposed to 'chibi' or cartoony. But hey, I liked FF11...played it all the way up till I got hooked on Warcraft a while back. Thought it was an excellent game...but the lack of pvp and being unable to level without a party made me leave. It was definately the most beautiful MMORPG ever though, and had the nicest...I dunno...'atmosphere'.
see, I just can't pay a monthly subscription to play a game that they can rip from me whenever they decide that the server isn't profitable enough also I don't like having to deal with people if I don't want to, I like going out and solo'ing but the problem is that current mmo's just don't understand the word scaleable in reality there aren't hordes of hostile creatures everywhere, so why are there when I'm wandering through a game world? I understand it when there is a reason (we're at war w\ x race, so x race is mobilized and you're going through their camp) but if you are just running around there shouldn't be this miasma of monsters go for reality or go for fantast, don't do this half assed in between bullshit I also would like to see a more skill based game, yeah I'd like to be able to stand there and do wicked damage, but I'd like more to be able to pirouette and take a thousand tiny cuts from my foe quickly (without reconfiguring) and kill them that way you risk overpowered characters, but if you had a good balance team you could have an amazing gameplay experience.......
