Fertilizer Plant Explodes in Texas - 15 Dead

That plant was an ammonia distribution center. Don't know why houses and a nursing home were so close. 80 homes were damaged very badly or destroyed. Even without an explosion, an ammonia leak would cause vapors to hug the ground and spread out in the area.

 

At least they have timely inspections over there.

Sad and sorry mess. I was in Waco just a few days ahead of this. Once upon a time I was a paramedic out here and might have led a crew that way to help. Praying for the people of West, Texas.
