I had to take out my horizontal hood piercing because it migrated. I want to get it redone once it heals. How likely is it to migrate again? I'm planning on going to a different piercer (didn't like the first one), using a larger guage, and using 24k gold. Also, I have a little loop of skin where the ring was - will this go away? I've been putting a bit of Neosporin on it every day and cleaning it with antibacterial soap to help it heal.

If it doesn't work, or if I don't have the right anatomy, I'm thinking of getting something a deeper - a triangle or a deep hood. What is the difference between the two? If I don't have the right anatomy for a horizontal hood, is it unlikely I'll be able to get another piercing?

ETA: I also like the look of the Christina piercing, but it looks VERY painful. Anybody here ever get one? Do I have to be shaved to get it?

Sorry about all the questions. I LOVED my piercing and hated to take it out. I really really want to get another one.

had the christina for a while, and it's no more painful than any other piercing down there. i would recommend shaving, just because it would be easier for the piercer, and do you really want a piercer down there while you're all fuzzy? i don't recommend neosporan for any genital piercing, it could actually make it worse just because of the different types of bacteria and what-not that are "down there". where the piercing migrated should heal with times, but if you get it repierced in the same place, it will hurt more (scar tissue hurts more, believe it or not). migration of a piercing in that area of your body is not very uncommon. i'm not sure of the difference between a triangle and a deep hood, never heard of either. but there are many different types of piercings you can get down there, and were i you, i'd talk a bit with your piercer before hand. if your anatomy isn't right for a particular piercing, your piercer aught to be honest with you and tell you so, and perhaps even be able to suggest something else. good luck!

This is a horizontal hood. This is the one I had that migrated.

This is a vertical hood. I don't really care for it personally, but if it's the choice between this and nothing, I'd get it.

This is a triangle. I'm guessing a deep hood is the same thing. It's like a horizontal hood except it goes under the nerve bundle instead of over it.

This is a Christina. I like the look, but I think I'd go for a bit more space between the two balls. I saw a picture of a long one (can't find it now) and I loved it.

like i said, all i've ever had was the christina. my advice? if you can, get something else! the christina is cute, but that's it. it won't do a damn thing for your sex life! lol

Gosh, you girls are more woman than me!! I've had two babies, and I don't think I could get my lips, hood or clit or anything else down there done! Looks good on y'all tho...I'm just a sissy, I'm allergic to pain. :) Good luck!
