My meat eating brother had a peaking duck ready meal tonight. Something got me thinking. I like ducks. They are weird birds but I like feeding them at the parks. I was mainly thinking how could he eat a bird which make ponds look so nice. This is when a truly awful thought came to mind. These ducks were most probably bred with a sausage factory mentality. Done for the most amount of profit. It just made me more of a hardened veggie. Meat seems so unappealing that I hate even thinking about it. I just wish that I was surrounded by more veggies. On another note. I wish I knew more veggies. This would mean I could go out on socials to an indian and would be able to share dishes and mix lots of different flavours. Matt
I feel you about not knowing any veggies. I know 1 and know of 1 other one. That's it. It's really annoying and kinda lonely.
that sucks for the both of you, most of my friends are veggi and i don't know what i'd do without them!
because most omnis go with the Dont ask dont tell mentality and/or the ignorance is bliss but then again there are those that just dont give a shit where there food comes from as long as it tas tes good.
Lovefest 1969, is that Paul McCartney in your sig pic? I don't think I've ever seen him without a shirt!?!
it is him, believe it! i pm'd her awhile back and asked, i dont think ive seen any of the beatles without a shirt on!
Im the only vegetarian I know, well at least I dont have any vegetarian friends. I use to have one veg friend, but last time I saw her she was chompin down some crappy carl's jr hamburger. Lol. I looked at her and I was like "what the hell are you eating, I thought you were vegetarian!" and she just acted like because for one meal she was hungry that without she would die! Its called self control, its only one meal!
Same here As for the ducks, I had a very similar experience recently. Walking with my family we passed a pond with ducks on, and my mother commented on how lovely they were. Then talked about how nice they are to eat. Really hated her for that. What is it that can let people think like that?
