I've always feet a spiritual connection to the '60s and I wish I had been there to experience it for myself, I think women were far more attractive back then also! I'm finding it difficult to cope with it lately, I fit in with my friends, smoke weed and maintain a regular social life I just always somewhere in the day feel like shit because I hate my life. I'm moving to Canada when I finish studying, is there any way to combat this, haha?

Find an inner calling. Something you want to aspire towards, idunno. I am in the same situation, but you gotta live life right? Make the most out of it.

I feel completely detached as well my friend. Fuck corporate america and all of it's bull shit propaganda and current ignorance of it's inhabitants. Especially fuck people's horrific taste in music and art nowadays... Sorry but saying "girl on the dance floor" in an auto-tuned voice in one million different variations is not art. I feel you dude, I would do literally anything to go back in time to the 60's, including prostitution. lol

I would't "wish you were in a different era".. We're all here to serve a purpose. You probably lived in the 60's in another life lol, like tyrsons said find the others

    Terrence McKenna, good call!

There's plenty of people and activities out there man that I'm sure would fit your ideal lifestyle. It sometimes just takes a little looking.

I just find it difficult to find people. I'm really restricted to where I can go until I move to Canada. I have no desire to be part of this neo-facist totallatarian regime that is England. Everybodies too focused on their own self-image. There's no drive for change; sure people protest about the rising education fees but they're not doing that because they think it's wrong, they're doing it because it leaves them out of pocket. I'm in a group of friends who think they're black, do drugs and don baggy sports clothing, (chavs) but I don't feel like one of the group.

wow me too, specially trying to find people who are like me or like the same interests as me or ideas and ways. I don't like todays society and makes me feel like shit growing up in this era and I wish I could of experienced the way people loved eachother in the 60's.
When I turn 18 I'm moving to canada too.

England, I spent a few years living in Arizona. My uncle lives in The Haight in San Francisco and my grandmother was a naturalized US citizen.

I know a few people who live in Philly, now. I just can't wait to get out of this Godforsaken country.

Sadly I don't know what would be a good country these days. Maybe this is my cynicism talking that gets worse year by year, but it seems the arms of American and English corporatism are grasping their way into every corner of the world. It's an era of a new global imperialism.

During the Vietnam War, Canada was a safe place to go to avoid spending time in Leavenworth. Today it would not be :( Even the Swiss are feeling the pressure.

America is clearly on a path of destruction. More than ever we are slaves to oil and the world is simply too volatile right now. I try not to seem paranoid, but I just look at the facts. Another world war is in the making right now.

However, communities of people trying to live a different way are starting to be persecuted. You can now be reached from anywhere.

I'm persecuted walking down my local highstreet. I get stopped anywhere between two to five times a day when I'm going to get milk. I live in a close knit rural community so the fact I openly smoke weed and will happily walk across the street smoking, it seems to bother everybody. Don't know what the big deal is. I hope, I'm probably wrong, that Canada is a little less jumped up than England is. The police insist on searching me whenever they see me because they've got it into their heads I'm some evil genius.

I hear that. Rural areas most anywhere are pretty bad though because of the type of person often attracted to rural areas. The type that wants to raise their kids in a vacuum of any kind of difference (gays, blacks, "drugs" etc). Often it's a very closed-minded person. :(

Hey guys, I'm from Canada and I feel the exact same way. At my university, I'm surrounded by dumbass douchebags and attention whores. People have no respect for each other or anything really. It's better than high school in general, but in a lot of ways, it's worse. I feel you though, young people are SO superficial that it disgusts me. I feel so alone almost every day. My like-minded friends live 2.5 hours away and I love them and miss them dearly. I want to facepalm daily, but hey, I guess that's why I'm on this site :p

I really just can't wait to get out of this country too, I can't stand the way people here are just typical close minded, and selfish. I guess no country is perfect but I don't know what makes me want to move to canada so bad xD
