It's dubstep so if you don't like dubstep then please turn away no as I wouldn't want to offend you. http://soundcloud.com/user1389636/untitled-unfinished It's not very good so it'd be nice if you could give me some feedback (any at all) so I can make it better. Thaaaaank you! :sunny:
It's chill. I feel like the beat is too clean at first, like, sounds straight out of a computer. Maybe put some cloudier reverb or some compression on it or something? idk Also, I know its probably just a raw track, but it doesnt really go anywhere. Maybe add some synth lines for some melody?
Yeah dude! I see what you mean and I'm doing the whole remastering thing now. I'll upload it when it sounds better. Thank you
heres how you fix it *starts sampling your shit. this is sweet. if you want to be generic about it you need a drop.. like a drum break down followed by intense wubs. if you want to be original and dope, throw that shit on a record and put it on your shelf cause its already really good. id like to hear more wubs(i assume you know what i mean); like quicker and more intense. i think thatd be a cool way to make it more dance-y, but thats what im doing with it as i type this. i like how its droney and chill, its a very good track to sample from. good job
What if I just make a breakdown after the second drop and feed that back into the primary drop? And thank you very much
Word. It's pretty good. However, to me, it sounds very plain. The beat get repetitive after a while. Trying adding more things and just mess around with it until you get something. I'm not too sure what you should add though. Just explore!
You should find some new sounds for your hats and snares. It's pretty good so far, but kinda uneventful... add some synths and more melodies in there, mix it up a bit. And don't forget the drop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJzfTZlEl40"]YouTube - UKF Dubstep Tutorial (Presented by Dubba Jonny)
what did you use to make this? what music programs? why not make the background beat into a lengthier progression? instead of being the same sound repeated over every 5 seconds or so change the pitch as the song progresses and climax on the drops. also the drops need to have more energy. like, build up, build up, silence, drop, wommm womm waaa waaa waaa. the more art you put into your buildups the better your drops are going to sound. i don't particularly like dubstep, but i am subjected to an ungodly amount of it, lol.
To everyone else, I'm fiddling with the EQ for the drumbeat and adding another synth-line with some more drums. The type of dubstep I'm making is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjty4kJ_WN4"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjty4kJ_WN4 Rather than the normal intro drop breakdown drop outro, I like it to slide into eachother which makes it darker and more chilled out. I use FL Studio 9 Producer's Edition, the Nexus plug-in for the synth and Massive for the wobbles. Also, I didn't even want to make dubstep in the beginning it just kind of came out of me. There's too much now-a-days and it's getting boring. I'm more into drum and bass but I was aiming for something like this when I started the drumbeat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xt70z-iwmA"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xt70z-iwmA But I guess that's how it happens Thank you for the feedback
steal yourself a nice copy of logic 9. physical recordings like tapes will give you a nice warm sound. its not in satisfying a certain criteria that you create something genuine and cool, you just gotta follow your own path. i said you should have a drop... but like.. EVERYBODY has a drop. i like sampling this with my kaoss pad cause its pretty straight forward and a nice, big jam vehicle. listen to black moth super rainbow and its derivs (tobacco, seven fields of aphelion, power pill fist, DREAMEND), theyre all very original musicians and they might give you an idea on where to go next. no part of music has to be cool or hip, the coolest things you can do will usually be received as the most uncool ideas. your job as a musician is to act as a discernible eye, do what you like and keep it fresh. id like to reiterate, FL studio FUCKING SUCKS. if you like digital i dont see any reason not to have logic (or reason!). try out some analogue synths with physical recordings; guaranteed to keep it fresh.
Kamran, if you give me a pm with 'permission to record', i'll layer some guitar over that (recording from my computer speakers, and playing live), and post it on soundclick. i'll give you credit as the composer. i don't know any other way to record over it-i have a simple mp3 recorder.
Kamran, your work (i titled it 'kjtravel') is #43 on soundclick out of 465 in dubstep. some listeners found the song posting. cool!
