Lol. Although I do not agree with much of what FedUp says, or with some of his "copy and paste" methods of pasting sometimes lengthy articles and badgering people to refute his often sourceless claims, that was an effing stupid post.

I once heard a Christian coworker say, 'That is just crap. I'm sorry to use that kind of language, but it is.' when we watched a customer berate an employee unfairly. But compared to that first post on this thread... well, it just seems tame. It was stupid, granted, but then again, it was kind of neat to read such a seemingly unChristian tirade by a supposed Christian. I don't recall Jesus swearing his head off when they nailed him to the cross even. But I kind of understand his point. FedUp has some sort of a problem with Christianity, and is apparently trying to start feuds for some reason. Even if he's right, I don't see the value in badgering people for no reason. Why bother? It reminds me of others who I felt seemed to be angry with God, imo.
    Effing silly, I say.

i honnestly think fedups not fedup with god but fedup with the stupidity within christianitythat causes them to intentionaly fuckup the entire world

exposing the holes in theyre beliefs & the hypocrocy within christianityis just the tool

i doubt you believing what ubelieve would bother him 1 bit...if it didnt effect the entire world

firstly theres those like cambell & jesusdiedforyou who try to ram theyre shit down your throughts

then theres the stupidity of voting for the most evil people alive simply cause they claim to be christians..or rally ya around 1 issue like abortion..
& because of these typical christian traits the entire world suffers

christianity is a severe danger just like over zealous muslims are

anytime you ignore common sence in prefference to larglynonsencicle religios ramblings & take it to the point of fanatasism..then use that to influence politicle decisions..your asking for hell on earth

thats what fedups fedup with..& so is most of the freakin world..so i say fedups a hero

hell he took the time to study the nonsence in alot more detailthen your average christian..i give him alotta respect for that..i tried reading that book & got in only maybe 100 pages when i realized not 1 thing made sence & i just couldnt go on

FedUp makes many valid points. He offers well researched and well thought out theories. But I say he is not a hero to me for one reason. He presents that good material in a giddy, superior, derogatory manner. There is no need. come on people. Can't we just live and let live. There are lots of good Christians, I would dare say most of them are good at heart. Just because some are jerks doesn't make it right to insult them all. that is the same thing as what is going on with Muslims right now. Out of over a billion Muslims, there is a small minority who are terrorists. Yet, I very often see people paint them all with that brush. Its not fair, it doesn't help, and I don't see the point. So what if you're right? What is your goal? To make all Christians accept the blamefor the sins of the bad Christians?

I read three different versions of the bible, and am not Christian, but I am glad I did. I agree it is a tool often misused for criminal purposes. In my view, there are few things that are not ever misused by someone for evil. I also feel that Christian history is full of horrors. But... that is not the fault of the faith, it is the result of the actions of those people who chose to use it as a means to accomplish their dire deeds. Hell on earth? We aren't asking for it, we have it.

Wouldn't it make sense that it would still be equally hellish and the evil doers of the world would have just found another vehicle? Without Christianity the world might actually be less hellish. How do you know?

I hear ya on that one, John Lennon had a good point there. I'd be willing to give it a go.
But what if we can't get everyone on board?
I doubt we could, considering that 85% of the worlds pop. are theists and only 2.5% are atheists. Thats a tough row to hoe.

Think the world will be able to live as one? If so, how long do you think it will be before we do? I don't think we can do it, but I hope I am wrong.

    Cheers

I don't know if any of the offended have actually taken the time to notice, but FedUpAmerican (as well as Libertine and a few others) is actually quite passionate about a very real set of ideals. These ideals are actually integral, essential, the very point of the great religious traditions. His bitterness, or contention, or efforts to enlighten, or whatever you choose to call it, seems to be a response to a grossly distorted variety of popular Christianity (not to mention Islamism) that, in its ignorance, tends to violate, or at least obscure, those ideals.

Maybe he is performing a great service to Christianity by influencing others to question and think about what it really means to be.

    Thanks FUA

    Peace and Love

agreed with varuna just from my short time here. it is obvious fedup will always stick to his guns, and thats something many people can't say.

sometimes a little tact goes a long way... sometimes tact cannot be used to fully express what it is you want to get across to others. i may not always love the method of delivery but i try to understand where he is coming from with an open mind. i'd rather someone lay their cards out on the table than have to dance around eggshells only to get nowhere.

I also applaud FedUp, although we might not always agree. He is a learned student in Christian theology, and I think it likely that he knows more about biblical scriptures than the majority of Christians. That alone can sometimes be a source of frustration, I know it has been for me many times in the past. I agree that his viewpoints are sometimes partially hidden by his passionate wording. I feel I have mostly understood his points, and found them sound.
Good to see all the supportive posts for him, he deserves it.

Well, he used to do that, did it quite well too. Lately he's seemed a bit um. . . off. Poting things like "Dracula was a Christian" and "Seahorse has become a troll" the later containing nothing more than the single sentence "Poor baby needs attention". Both weird, and neither of the intellectual quality that I have come to expect. Oh well, we all have our good days and our bad days.

Why do you have to question other peoples beliefs? Why can't they just believe what they believe and if it makes them happy, then good. If being a christian and believing in that stuff makes you a better person then go you. You shouldn't have to have people making you question what you believe and make you feel like shit about it.

If you atheist, go you. If you christian, go you. If you worship a tree, go you.

I don't get why people have to make it seem like their religion is the best one and if someone believes in something else, then fuck them.

    whatever.

I didn't mean like better than another person, I ment better as a person as in like helping one another. This could go to any religion. I just chose that one because I didn't feel like typing it all out.
