Charlie is my favourite. Anyone that can call a children's character Willy Wonka and get away with it is a genius in my book.

Danny the Champion of the World is my favourite but Fantastic Mr.Fox and Georges Marvellous Medicine run very close seconds.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory is, in my opinion, a great work of pornography.

It is not sex that makes pornography; not everything sexual is pornographic.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory indulges the appetite for chocolate in the same way that ordinary pornography indulges the appetite for sex. That is why I consider Charlie & the Chocolate Factory pornographic even though it is not sexual.

Besides, the concept of keeping an entire tribe of exotic African or Indonesian natives in an underground factory enslaved through their addiction to the cacao bean is utterly perverse.

charlie and the chocolate factory! definately, i dunno, theres just something about poisoning your evil grandmother out of sheer boredom that every kid can relate to in one way or another

plus its also extreamly twisted, but then again all of roald dahls books are in one way or another

I see that Charlie and the Chocolate factory is the most popular...could this be because of a certain movie that came out in July (and in September in the southern hemisphere)?

Maybe for some people, but I read most of his books 27 years ago, so I can safely say for myself that the film's got fuckole to do with it. Still, I can't wait to see it[IMG]

Danny the Champion of the world. My sister used to read it to me when I was little. I loved the part where they fed the sleeping pill-spiked raisins to the pheasants, lol...
