This was inspired by another thread...but what's your favourite Beatles Album and your favourite song off of it? Mine is (I couldn't pick 1...) Abbey Road Song: the whole 2nd side (starting with "Here Comes The Sun")...but "Polythene Pam" is the best of it all... and Revolver Song: between "Love You To" and "And Your Bird Can Sing"
Hmm... probably Revolver for me as well. And for the best song from the album, probably "Tomorrow Never Knows." Turn off your mindRelax and float down streamIt is not dyingIt is not dying
Sgt. Peppers -Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds. I love it dearly, I know it isn't their best technically, but it is the one I am most emotionally attached to. I'd give you my copy. But then I'd have to kill you. 2nd favorite is Abbey Road, especailly like the ending. You wold think it would end with that big production "The End" but it doesn't it ends with the little quirky, "Her Majesty". I like that for an odd reason. anyways... really I remember being 4 or 5 and singing "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds" jumping on my old couch and looking out the window at the sun... one of the happiest times I remember. Before I knew what Beatles were. "Who are these funny looking men on the cover? I don't care... I love this song!" .... yes, I think my thought process was similar to that but I love nearly every beatles song, so... hard to choose... ~peace~
Revolver is mine - I love many of their albums, but I tend to listen to Revolver more than any other album of theirs.
yes, sometimes I miss how simple it was. Then again, it's nice now that I'm older I can understand the world better. When I was young it was... all... just... so... hard.... can't... understand...! ah, simple frustation good thing I had that album! in fact, I think I will put it on right now. have a nice day! ~~peace~~
I remember when I used to LOVE all of their early work, and didn't like much of their later work. Then I got tired of all the "young love" songs and discovered their later, better work. I think, back in the day, that my favorite album used to be Beatles For Sale.
Sometimes you just need to listen to early Beatles though...to just have fun and dance around...one of my favourites to dance around to is "Roll Over Beethoven", I know they didn't write it...but I still love to dance around to it...also "I Wanna Be Your Man"...
Oh yes, I still like and listen to the early Beatles, but I do think I have kinda grown out of it. "Roll Over Beethoven" is also one of my favorite early Beatles songs! I also really like "Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey Hey." I've also always dug that solo on "Can't Buy Me Love."
There is a time for early Beatles, but if it is all you listen to, it can get tiring. I love the cd they put out that feautures 27 of their #1 singles... does anyone else know what I'm talking about?? It's pretty good, it takes you from early Beatles - "Love Me Do", and then once you get tired of dancing it brings you in through "Yellow Submarine" right into singing along with "Hey Jude" . I could just let that disk play on and on and on and on... anyways, it's a nice collection of some of their biggest hits. It is missing a lot of great songs, no doubt, but still good to listen to.yeah, so anyways...
Yeah, their older stuff can get tiring too. You just gotta listen to it all, cause it's all good stuff.
Yeah, you're talking about The Beatles 1. I've got it and yes, it's great, but not really a reflection of their greatest work. It merely shows what the mainstream likes to listen to.
agreed. not all their best work, but even their not-so-great songs are fun, too! I like their pictures on the back... John's eyes look intensely trippy! -and may I add you know an extremely large amount of information on great music!
Actually, my favorite part of The Beatles 1 is the booklet. It has nice pictures of album covers from around the world as well as the dates that each song was a #1 hit in multiple countries. Very nice...
Hehe, nah, I know people who know way more about music than I do, especially people right here on this music forum. Pressed_Rat always seems to have tons of nifty information on hand, or so it seems. But thanks for the compliment anyways! And you know that I'm always impressed with your musical knowledge! Most 13 years olds don't know squat! Oh yeah, and forgive me for the double post :&. I'm only human, ya know.
