My favorite year for the Dead in terms of jamming is probably tied between: 1973 (for one, badass energy for Playing in The Band) 1974 (all I need to say: Eyes of the World from this year is fucking amazing!)

Yeah, alligator in general is out of this world. It's been so long since I've heard a 60s show from them. I'll have to float on over to the archive.
Any year from the 60's is gonna have some awesome jams (think Dark Star) but I just think that 77 the best Dead year all-around.
